Hi all, not wanting to mozz the Impromptu, but yes Ive also had a look at the top 3 teams and would have to say current P2 Dont Do...Think is in a great shape at the moment with the reserves.
One would think that with this weeks forwards (Petrie/Harvey) and next fortnights backs issues (Gibbs/Scotland) for the top teams, there should be the 44 points difference.
That is, of course, all things being equal. Â But we know in SuperCoach they are not. Â Especially if Impro has trades at the ready - and we all know he is prepared to use them to keep his hold on the lead.
Yamum also has some shots in the locker. Â As we all know, about 250 is gettable in any given week, and theres probably still hope for those chasing from within 500 points to make some ground so long as their points of difference are solid. Â Injuries to captains will prove very costly from here-on, and thats what the chasing hordes will be counting on.
Therefore if I were leading and looking to just make things steady, Id think Pendlebury is the metronome youd be sticking to, though Dal Santo has shown some electrifying form recently.
If its a battle of the top 3 (which it is most likely for the lead next week), then this is what the cheering needs to be for Impromptu (caps for more crucial)
Heroes - His D7, JUDD, Swan, ABLETT, SELWOOD, Boyd, KREUZER, N Riewoldt, Mzungu
Villains - Broughton, Birchall, Â M MURPHY, Dal Santo, Priddis, Bartel, Hodge, Mitchell, Goldstein, McEvoy, SYLVIA, Johnson, Fyfe
Still plenty that can go right and wrong. Â But Id love to be in a position knowing my key PODS were Judd, Ablett and Selwood. Â Time and again these guys have done the job. Â Not so sure about the Scarlet Pimpernels D7 though. Â You can get lucky with Lower/Heppell/Stanley, or you can choose poorly. Â This week its a really tough selection, as all have claims. Â Personally, I think Stanley will be well suited by the Q Clash. Â But hes certainly not got nearly the up-side of the other two.
Anyway, will be interesting to watch these PODs this week, and to see if Impro is prepared to do a gutsy move and give Harvey or Petrie the shove. Â Norths run home is not a bad scoring zone with Freo, Saints and Richmond to come, so it would take big cajones to make the trade.
Thoughts from the peanut gallery? Â Anyone see a challenger outside the top 3 (yeah I know Lings Bandits is near enough to do damage...keep half an eye on that team...)
Be the Best - Update on the Impromptu Challengers. Can the FWD subs hold the line?
