Welcome back to Best Buys.
This is the conclusion of the NAB Cup round 1 Best Buys, and has somehow managed to be even bigger than the first (I may have got a bit carried away with the mid-pricers). As with last week the results are based on players NAB cup scores according to a basic formula based on DreamTeam scores and their average from 2011, or their average based on price, as the remaining scores to make up a three round projection. Join us for the article and discussion over the break.

Best Buys is separated into positions and then further broken down into rookies, mid-pricers and premiums. The scores used as stated before may not be accurate but are a good indication nonetheless. Feel free to post any questions about the article or problems you have with it, and any questions you want you answered along the lines of player x over player y. Lets keep it civil and football related though guys. This pre-season edition uses the official DreamTeam scores factored with the 3300 rule for SuperCoach and isnt necessarily accurate but is a solid indication of where the players are, the regular Best Buys will use only official scores though.
Defense
Rookies
Billie Smedts (GEE) played only once for 64 points, to rise by 15 grand. On current form there are better rookie options at Geelong, but the pre-season is only that, and also just beginning. Worth watching.
Josh Tynan (MEL) had a good first match for the Dees scoring 72 points and a 20 grand price rise in the process. May struggle to get a place in the Melbourne side but worth keeping an eye on.
Sam Shaw (ADE) played once for a score of 90 meaning his value would increase by nearly 30 grand. Again his job security could be an issue so keep an eye on how many games he gets over the NAB.
Mid-Pricers
Heath Grundy (SYD) had a slow start with only 57 points, but then ramped it up considerably in the second to score a 125. This saw him lose about 5 grand but shouldn’t put people off as his 125 against Geelong showed his skills. At almost 500,000 he may be too expensive for a lot of people but should be a solid defensive contributor.
Nick Malceski (SYD) had scores of 102 and 61 to gain around five grand, better options around for his price in my opinion.
Rhyce Shaw (SYD) notched up scores of 57 and 93 to lose 10 grand, has an average of 77 and would be against the odds to improve that to 100+.
Nick Smith (SYD) scored 124 and 87 to go up in price by 20 grand. Solid display for the mid-pricer but needs to really lock down his spot in the back line.
Jarryn Geary (StK) belted out a 115 to rise by nearly 30 grand in value, is cheap for a mid-priced played but I feel job security may still be an issue for him.
Josh Hunt (GEE) had a decent couple of games scoring 106 and 71 to rise in value by 10 grand. Depending on his role he could present some value as a mid-pricer but whispers are touting him for Lings tagging spot so be wary when considering.
Taylor Hunt (GEE) had an inconsistent night scoring 132 and 34 but still managed a price rise of around 10 grand. Could be a bit inconsistent for many and there are a few mid-pricers around.
Harry Taylor (GEE) had scores of 74 and 113 to go up in value by around 5 grand, but if he manages to pick up some extra points per game through the run could be a viable POD defender.
Nathan Bock (GCS) played both games and scored a 103 and an 81 to drop around 10 grand in price. He was playing in the forward line and whilst he did some good things, I personally don’t think the ball will be there as much as it was in the backline last year. Wait and see where he ends up playing before committing. Missing the opening games doesn’t help either.
Jed Adcock (BRL) had a good first game scoring 101 points before only managing 20 in the second. This would see him lose nearly 40 grand over three weeks, and whilst a solid contributor he failed to really repay a lot of the coaches who selected him last year.
Pearce Hanley (BRL) played both games but with scores of 86 and 71 his price took a 15 grand hit. Could be a good mid-priced defender but would need to lift his output.
James Hawksley (BRL) is the other of two Brisbane mid-pricers around the $300,000 mark to score 180+ in their only outing in the NAB. This sees a 50 grand price rise, the main difference between the two is Harwood is a mid and Hawksley a Defender.
Cheynee Stiller (BRL) had a good single game scoring 127 points to rise around 15 grand over three weeks. More mid-price choices from Brisbane but hasn’t had a history of reliability.
Jack Grimes (MEL) only had the one outing and scored himself 66 points. This sees him drop 10 grand in price but the important thing for him is that he came through unscathed after a shocking run with injuries. Also of note was the fact he played predominantly in the midfield for this one instead of across HB, so keep an eye on him for the remaining NAB games.
Paul Bower (CAR) is awkwardly priced but showed with his scores of 63 and 80 for a 30 grand price rise that he could still be a decent option. He needs to get a regular gig in Carltons back line but if he does so he could be a decent money raiser, possibly not enough to warrant his selection over a good rookie though.
Mathew Watson (CAR) played once for 117 points to net a 20 grand price rise. The high draft pick didn’t play that many games last year but showed potential when he did and is a good size for a young defender.
Matthew Jaensch (ADE) showed some form scoring 80 points and then 98 to see a price rise of around 5 grand. A better year from Adelaide should see the young defender increase his average.
Brodie Smith (ADE) had a solid game with a score of 110, giving him a 20 grand boost in price. In his second year he should be a solid young player but may not score enough to be a keeper or make you enough cash.
Maverick Weller (GCS) had a great game with 133 points but had a quieter second only scoring 44. This still saw his price increase by 25 grand and he could be a decent mid-priced option. No GCS mid except for GAblett will be top ten though by years end.
Pemiums
Sam Fisher (StK) had a strong first showing for the year knocking up a 115. His price would have fallen slightly over three weeks but a consistent performer and good defensive option to those avoiding Goddard.
Brendon Goddard (StK) had a quiet game with a 51 up first before turning it on with a 124 in the second. Scores like this would see him lose around 30 grand but has been a premium defender for years now. Expect more 120+ than 60-.
Heath Scotland (CAR) had scores of 136 and 86 to lose a bit over 5 grand over three weeks but still showed class. He will be a lock in most teams and should be a top ten defender.
Midfielders
Rookies
Harry Cunningham (SYD) had a massive game first up scoring a 146, but was then used as sub in the second game and only managed a 13 but still rose around 50 grand. Good rookie option who showed he has the potential to score big.
Nathan Gordon (SYD) had a poor outing first off managing himself a -9, but obviously the game format has exaggerated a poor game and his second outing proved much better posting a 112. Even with the dud score of -9 in the first game his price would rise 15 grand or so but he is an expensive rookie option at almost 170,000.
Tom Ledger (StK) impressed a lot of coaches, myself included, with scores of 105 and 128 to nab himself a 80 grand price rise. Looked comfortable at the top level and got a lot of it all night, pencil him in.
Seb Ross (StK) had scores of 57 and 83 to gain a decent 40 grand. The Saints have a few promising rookies so they will need to be watched further to see who will get time once the real footy starts.
Simon Hogan (GEE) also impressed with scores of 122 and 105, to get a massive price hike of 70 grand. A bit more expensive than Horlin-Smith but again if he gets games jump on.
Jonathan Simpkin (GEE) had a solid outing with scores of 42 and 120 to give himself a nice 50 grand price boost. Solid performer but will struggle for game time.
Thomas Couch (MEL) was one of two Demon rookies to impress, notching up scores of 88 and 83 in his two outings giving him a healthy rise of almost 60 grand. If he looks like getting game time he could be a great pick up.
James Magner (MEL) was the Melbourne rookie to shine over the weekend, and shine he did. Racking up scores of 149 and 89 his price shot up by 85 grand. If this bloke can get off the rookie list, which so far his form has easily warranted, then he could he a massive cash-cow. If he is elevated he should be in most sides.
Chad Wingard (PTA) was the rookie story from Port this weekend, playing once against the Blues to smash out a 145. Priced as a top ten draft pick he is a bit more expensive than a lot of rookies but may well be worth it. His price would increase around 45 grand over three weeks.
Darren Pfeiffer (PTA) played once for a decent score of 76 to see a 20 grand price rise, and whilst he could be a decent rookie choice if he gets games so far there have been some stronger contenders for your bench spots.
Mitchell Carter (CAR) played a good game managing 88 for an almost 30 grand price rise over three weeks, but with Carltons midfield he will struggle to get games. Better rookie options around.
Sam Kerridge (ADE) only played one game and managed 73 points to see a price rise of around 20 grand. Looked reasonable without setting the world on fire.
Tim McIntyre (ADE) played once and belted out a 117 to rise about 40 grand in value. Seemed a good rookie prospect but will need to see more over the NAB to ensure he will get games early.
Mid-Pricers
Craig Bird (SYD) had one game, scoring 80 points against the Cats. This saw him lose 8 grand overall but at an average of 71 it wouldn’t be hard for him to reverse that. Would need to see a bit more from him next outing to warrant a mid-priced selection in the midfield.
Jude Bolton (SYD) had a very good game against the Saints knocking up a 159 and a 15 grand price rise, for an older player he still hasn’t really slowed down yet and is a tackling machine.
Kieren Jack (SYD) scored 102 in his only game on the weekend, and when added to his average by 2 means he would pretty much stay level in price. It should be stated that when uninjured Jack is a reliable scorer and you could expect him to average around 100. Could be a good POD option if firing.
Lewis Jetta (SYD) impressed with scores of 99 and 103, earning himself a price rise of 45 grand. He kicked 1.1 on the night and should improve his goalkicking accuracy on last year, but still may have set some shot issues. If he gets his kicking right he could be a great mid-price pick up, but can’t be expected to be in the top midfielders end of year.
Jarrad McVeigh (SYD) burst out of the gates with a 131 and backed it up with a 93, over three weeks he would have only risen 5 grand but he could push his average up to 100+ this year. Again probably not top ten material and badly priced as such.
David Armitage (STK) had scores of 35 and 124 in a rollercoaster performance that would have seen him lose 2 grand over three weeks. Like others here has shown he has the ability to score well but so far hasn’t done so consistently.
Clinton Jones (StK) smashed a huge 162 in his only game of the night, and if he looks to keep this form up may be worth considering for a mid-priced midfielder. Price hike of 30 grand.
Lenny Hayes (StK) played once for a 76 and a 10 grand price drop, but the important thing was he looked comfortable and got through the game unscathed. Watch for a return to form as he could be good value at his current price.
Jack Steven (StK) only played once but managed a 127 to rise by about 10 grand. Steven could in my opinion be the pick of the Sainters mid-pricers. Could really improve his game this year.
Jared Brennan (GCS) scored 65 and 107 in his two games to lose 10 grand in value overall, GCS should be on the up and see less thrashings than last year but there are still other mid-price options I would consider first.
Sam Iles (GCS) pumped out a 131 in his only match, earning a 20 grand price rise. Another Tasmanian Sun to consider the mid-pricer has shown the ability to produce big scores in the past.
Dion Prestia (GCS) was in good form netting himself 126 and 97 points in his two games, and getting a 35 grand price rise in the process. A quick small forward who is one of GCS’ more promising forwards but is unfortunately only listed in the midfield.
Michael Rischitelli (GCS) had a good game notching up 133 points to rise in price over 3 weeks by 5 grand. He doesn’t need to improve his game much to become a premium and with the natural improvement of the Suns arouns him he should be every chance of doing it.
David Swallow (GCS) scored a 114 in the first game but a 60 in the second to get a net loss of around 5 grand. He may suffer from second year blues and the improving mids around him taking points, so watch closely if considering.
Simon Black (BRL) showed he’s still got it with a 127 in his single game, moving up about 5 grand in price. Shouldn’t be written off as he still has loads of class and the team around him is improving.
Rohan Bewick (BRL) managed an impressive 121 in his only game on the night, rising in value by around 30 grand. Another mid-priced Lion to watch if you’re that way inclined.
Ryan Harwood (BRL) only played the one game but made it count, belting out a 185 to rise 50 grand in price. If he looks to continue this form he could be great value at around $300,000.
Jared Polec (BRL) had one game for 101 points, for a 25 grand price rise. Looked fairly solid in his only outing but may have issues with job security.
Tom Rockliff (BRL) looked good in his only game notching up 111 points, this would see him lose around 15 grand over three weeks but is a good sign for him remaining a premium this season.
James Polkinghorne (BRL) had two solid games for totals of 127 and 71, to gain a 20 grand price rise. Another mid-priced Lion but should at least be locked into their 22.
Elliot Yeo (BRL) impressed with a 135 in his only game to rise almost 50 grand in value, compared to “Linsanity” in the chat but I will personally wait till after the NAB at least to call it. One to watch.
Jack Redden (BRL) had a good night with scores of 86 and 151 meaning over three weeks he stayed about even. Has the potential to go big so keep an eye on him for signs of solid form.
Jamie Bennell (MEL) played both games on the weekend managing scores of 46 and 72 for around a 5 grand price rise. He did look lively though and the mid-pricer could be worth watching.
Nathan Jones (MEL) had a good night scoring 122 and 86 in his two games to keep his price just over even over three weeks. Averaging 90 last year with Melbourne hoping to win a few more games this year he could be a decent chance to lift that over 100. Still wouldn’t be an elite midfielder though.
Travis Boak (PTA) had a bit of an inconsistent night with scores of 63 and 128 meaning over three weeks he would lose about 5 grand. Port should have a mid-priced gem somewhere this year based on last years efforts but Gray is ahead of Boak for mine.
Kane Cornes (PTA) turned back the clock with a massive score of 149 in his only game, and showed he may still be a smoky POD, but I highly doubt it to be honest. Happy to be proven wrong.
Brad Ebert (PTA) had a good night scoring 114 and 136 in his two games to increase in price by around 35 grand. The move to Port seems to have done wonders for the midfielder and could be a decent mid-priced choice if he maintains this form, and is priced at an average of only 64.
Hamish Hartlett (PTA) played once for a score of 132 increasing by almost 10 grand, and after a horrendous run with injuries in the last few years looks to be finally getting his body right. If he remains fit he could be a good mid-price selection.
Danyle Pearce (PTA) was lively in his two games scoring 95 and 113 respectively to see him gain a 15 grand price rise. Has shown glimpses of talent in the past and may finally start to deliver.
Andrew Carrazzo (CAR) Had a good night scoring 126 and 106 in his two, but it should be noted that with Carlton not playing Judd and rotating various players he didn’t play in as much of a tagging role as he usually does. If he moves onto the ball a bit more could be a good smoky, as most will pick Scotland as a Carlton defender/midfielder but would need to improve.
Ed Curnow (CAR) had a very solid night scoring 101 and 110 points in his two games. When fit he showed last season that he is capable of consistent 100+ scores but has injury worries after missing spells twice during the season. Could be a great mid-priced option and may end up as an M7 keeper if uninjured.
Kane Lucas (CAR) impressed a lot of people with scores of 133 and 109 to get himself a 65 grand price rise. Job security has always been a big issue for the midfielder but if he does look like getting games then he could be a good mid-priced choice.
Brock McLean (CAR) also turned back the clock with a huge 163 in his only match, rising 40 grand in price. McLean has been in the magoos for quite a while now and whilst the Carlton coaching staff insist they are working on roles for him I can’t see him getting a regular spot on the pitch.
Patrick Dangerfield (ADE) scored a 98 in his only game to keep his price about even over three weeks. Has loads of talent and could be in for a breakout year.
Rory Sloane (ADE) had one game and made it count with a massive score of 192 and a 30 grand price rise. Smoky mid-price option who could well become a keeper at M7.
Nathan Van Berlo (ADE) had a good night scoring 116 and 94 in his two games and raising around 5 grand in value over three weeks. Is showing some good signs and could be a worthwhile mid-priced option.
Premiums
Jimmy Bartel (GEE) only played once for a score of 94, and a drop of around 15 grand. He did look fairly comfortable and with a lot of players out he needed to play various roles he probably wouldn’t normally. Still a good option for a premium, as when he has good games they tend to be bloody good.
Duckwood (GEE) only played the once for a score of 135 and over three weeks with his average he would have stayed about even. Ducky when fit can average 120 but due to his play style does have the risk of occasional KO’s. Most will lock him in, and for good reason.
Captain Gazza (GCS) only played one game for a return of 126. This being 2 points below his average and degradation means he would probably drop in price around 5 grand but no-one cares about that. Should be lock and if fit will be on field for most and more than likely Captain for a few. Worth the starting price in my opinion.
Bryce Gibbs (CAR) had one game for 120 points and kept his price around even, he has been talked up all pre-season and could be due for a break-out year. Not elite but a great POD as most will ignore him as he is a midfielder only this year but could become elite if he has the breakout that has been tipped.
Marc Murphy (CAR) scored 139 points in his single game to keep his price about even over three weeks, but more importantly showed he’s looking in good shape to back up his breakout last season. May well be the Blues highest scoring midfielder again this year.
Scott Thompson (ADE) had a good first game but couldn’t really follow it up in the second, scoring 123 and 68 respectively. Could easily be a top ten midfielder by the end of the year.
Ruck
Rookies
Orren Stephenson (GEE) everyones favourite 29 year old rookie, scored 87 and 34 in his two games to increase in value by 35 grand. He may take a little time to adjust to the top level but should still generate plenty of cash.
Mid-Pricers
Mike Pyke (SYD) had a big night scoring 111 and 99 to increase by 50 grand. In a good sign he only played about half the match in the ruck meaning if he gets game time then Mummys ruck work shouldn’t hurt him too much. Keep an eye on him for the rest of the NAB if interested in a mid-price ruck.
Mark Seaby (SYD) scored 54 and 80 sharing the ruck duties with the Canadian Pyke, and lost 15 grand with those scores. Look for signs of Seaby losing the R2 slot to Pyke, as at over 400,000 you would want to be certain he’ll be getting significant game time.
Trent West (GEE) played mainly forward and left the rucking to Stephenson, but still managed scores of 74 and 71 to see a net loss of 5 grand. If these games were anything to go by he may not see much ruck time.
Zac Smith (GCS) may have scared off some of his prospective coaches managing only a 57, with 7 hit-outs, and a 7. This saw his price tumble by 50 grand but it is important to remember that Dixon and Gorringe were playing ruck in the second match and Smith was subbed. Either way it’s alarm bells for me.
Mark Jamar, (MEL) The Big Russian had two quiet games only managing scores of 34 and 75 meaning he would drop nearly 40 grand. Has shown glimpses of talent in the past but may not be able to push into the ranks of the elite ruckmen. Melbourne losing Gawn too much of an unknown.
Shaun Hampson (CAR) had a good night scoring 111 and 113 points in his two matches, gaining 30 grand in value as well. He played a fair bit of ruck and looked good doing it but with Kreuzer and Warnock to compete with he may not get much ruck time in the regular season.
Matthew Kreuzer (CAR) had a quiet night with scores of 82 and 43, but didn’t play much in the ruck. The Carlton ruck battle will cloud Kreuzers real value so keep an eye on how it looks like playing out before committing.
Sam Jacobs (ADE) had scores of 66 and 106 to lose around 10 grand in value. If looking for a mid-price ruck he is definitely still worth keeping an eye on as he is still improving and has cemented the number 1 ruck at the Crows.
Premiums
Ben McEvoy (StK) scored 92 and 109 to lose around ten grand. Worthy of note is he had 15 Hit-Outs and 9 disposals over the night, only beaten in the Hit-Out count by Orren Stephenson and even then only by 1. Was rucking against Stephenson, Seaby and Pyke but still showed an improvement in tap-work.
Matthew Leuenberger (BRL) had one match and scored 104 points, 1 more than his 2011 average. This and his average over three weeks would see him lose a bit over 5 grand but he played well and had 9 hit-outs for the game. Watch to see the effect of Hudson.
Forwards
Rookies
Tommy Walsh (SYD), or Solanum Tuberosum, did next to nothing and wound up with -3 score in his only game to lose 10 grand. Wrote himself out of contention for a lot of teams with that game and will really need to show something special to get another look in.
Jamie Cripps (StK) had scores of 30 and then 135 to rise in value by around 60 grand. Due to injuries last year he is still only really rookie priced at 160,000 and if looking likely to get games he could be a great pickup.
Terry Milera (StK) played once but managed a 113 in a promising display, increasing his value by around 35 grand. Possbily behind Saad for a small forward spot in the Saints line-up however.
Ahmed Saad (StK) impressed with a 102 and a 60, rising by around 50 grand. Looked lively and constantly threatened the goals.
Arryn Siposs (StK) played twice for scores of 19 and 116 to rise by 15 grand. Looking to get more game time under Watters and could be good value.
George Burbury (GEE) played well scoring 77 and 53 in his two games, netting himself a 35 grand price rise. As with all the Geelong rookies though it needs to be mentioned that they only played 10 or so premiership players so competition for spots will be tight.
George Horlin-Smith (GEE) had an impressive night racking up numbers of 122 and 75 to jump his value by 65 grand. Again time on ground may be an issue but if it looks like he’ll get games, jump on.
Josh Walker (GEE) looked lively in his first game scoring 112, before managing 34 in his second. These would give him a decent 40 grand price rise, but again may not get much time on ground.
Aaron Hall (GCS) the young Tasmanian really starred for the Suns with scores of 187 and 84, to give him a huge price rise of 99 grand. A more mature rookie he was overlooked for several years until a recent growth spurt shot him up to around 186cm. Everyone will have him.
Mid-Pricers
Mitch Morton (SYD) had a decent run for 80 points but then had a shocker in the second notching up -10. This sees him lose 20 grand and may not be the best option.
Sam Reid (SYD) had a big first up score of 127 but followed that up with a 16, meaning in total over three weeks his price stayed within $100. Has a high ceiling as indicated but if he gets some games together he may be a decent mid-priced forward.
N Roo (StK) only played once for 70 points, which would have lost him 20 grand. It is only the pre-season but I have to say I thought the Saints looked more dangerous without him up front.
Mitch Duncan (GEE) had scores of 80 and 101 for a gain of around 5 grand. Not a bad mid-priced option and should have a spot in the Cats 22.
Steven Motlop (GEE) showed he has recovered from his numerous shoulder problems for the moment and managed scores of 83 and 71 in his two outings to increase in price by around 25 grand. His injury history and job security would still have to be a big concern for him.
Matty Stokes (GEE) spent a fair bit of time playing through the backline, and this change in position saw him only manage scores of 38 and 22 to see him plummet by 60 grand. As a mid-priced option those scores are horrendous but keep watching him to see if he shifts back into the forward line.
Charlie Dixon (GCS) enjoyed a solid outing with scores of 69 and 118, the 118 including 4 hit-outs in what has been a new role for Dixon. Price rise of around 45 grand and if this he looks likely to back up Smith in the ruck he could be worth considering for a cheap mid-pricer.
Daniel Gorringe (GCS) was the sub in the first game of the night but pumped out a 101 in the second with 10 hit-outs. Dixon’s competition for the ruck cover so keep an eye on both. His price would have risen by around 20 grand.
Todd Banfield (BRL) managed a 95 in his only game to increase in price by about 5 grand. Could be a good mid priced forward gamble.
Jonathan Brown (BRL) and his titanium face made it through the first two games of 2012 unscathed but only managed returns of 52 and 67. These scores would see him drop 20 grand in value and may give those considering taking a punt on Browny second thoughts. The non-emergence of another Brisbane forward target mean he is heavily tagged most times.
Ryan Lester (BRL) had two good games netting returns of 130 and 74 for an almost 40 grand price increase. Lions seem to have some good options in the mid-price range this year.
Jordan Lisle (BRL) was the sub in the first game for the Lions but managed a 101 in the second to rise in price by 20 grand. Will need to stand up and draw some attention for Browny to break out but may still be a season off that.
Ashley McGrath (BRL) belted out a huge 204 in his only game to see a near 50 grand price hike. If this form continues he could be well worth the risk as a mid-pricer but watch carefully over the remaining NAB games.
Mitch Clark (MEL) looked set to impress in his new colours with a massive 156 first up but then followed that with an equally horrendous -17 to mean overall he would lose 15 grand. You won’t see any -17s come the home and away season but it still shows he has a lot of improvements still to make.
Jeremy Howe (MEL) played once for a reasonable score of 75, seeing him stay about level on price. By all accounts he has had a strong pre-season and if firing should get some decent time in the Dees forward line this year. One to watch after some solid performances last year.
Ricky Petterd (MEL) had one game on the weekend managing a score of 112 for about a 5 grand price rise. Interestingly this score came in the same game Mitch Clark scored 150+ so having Clark the focus of attack doesn’t seem to have hurt his scoring. Not a bad mid-price choice and could improve considerably.
Hi-Lo Sylvia (MEL) played once for a score of 52 points and a loss of 30 grand. Expect him to belt out a 150 this week and tempt a few again. When firing he can rack up good scores when off is shocking. Too inconsistent for most.
John Butcher (PTA) played one game for a score of 82 meaning his price would rise by around 5 grand. He showed a lot of potential in his few games last year and could be a steal at this price if he keeps performing.
Robbie Gray (PTA) had a decent first game scoring 73 and turned it on in the second managing a 143 to mean over three weeks he would rise in price around 5 grand. As a midfield/forward selection he has a lot of merits and could well increase his average to 100+ this year.
Jay Schulz (PTA) had a game to take notice of in his only outing, scoring a huge 173 and a 40 grand price rise. If you’re after a mid-pricer then keep an eye on Schulz for the rest of the pre-season.
Jeff Garlett (CAR) had a decent showing with scores of 60 and 133. He should keep improving and has great forward pressure but the small forward role isn’t usually a consistent scoring one for SC.
Premiums
Adam Goodes (SYD) had a good first game scoring 131 but was a bit slower in the second scoring 77. He would have lost around 15 grand but as Goodes has had a history of starting slowly you can usually be sure that better scores will be coming. Permanent class, and the only true premium forward to get a game on the weekend!
One eye on the future...
Jaeger O’Meara (GCS) had a run in both games scoring a 46 in his first before a 91 in his second. The young star is not eligible to play in 2012 due to his age but these hit-outs showed that he has talent to burn and if fit come 2013, should be an absolute gun. Remember him for next season.
Alright thats it from me for a while guys, again feel free to comment and discuss and Ill see you in the comments.
