After a horror week in fantasy football, that may even leave some teams without a single playing midfielder, the Best Buys are here to try and ease your SC sorrows. This round looks to be one in where it's 'last man standing' rules, and being the last match before the SC grand finals it's bound to be another tough one. Time constraints have kept things fairly brief this week, but hopefully it'll be no less valuable.

The Best Buy for this week, a week that will go down in SC infamy, is the star West Coast midfielder Matt Priddis. On an excellent run of form as of late, and most importantly uninjured as of the time of writing this, Priddis could well be the saviour many teams are praying for. A hard in and under player and always a chance to snag a few goals Priddis should be firing this week against the Demons at Patterson's, and could even be a decent chance at being named captain for those who grab him.

    DEFENSE
    MID-PRICERS
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Luke Hodge (HAW) D/M 491.7k 93
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Hodge has been good value in recent games, pushing his average for the year up to 93 and playing a vital role in the Hawks team. Costing just over 490 grand and sitting in around 31,000 sides he looks to be decent value, and the D/M status may well help to cover some of the big outs in the midfield this week.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Heath Shaw (GWS) DEF 459.6k 92
Heater had a quieter game on the weekend, but really the Giants dominated the play for the majority of the match. With some serious injury concerns of their own GWS will be relying on players such as Shaw to step up this week, against much stiffer opposition, and Shaw should be a shoe-in to once again go 100+

    PREMIUMS
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Jarrad McVeigh (SYD) D/M 526k 105
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]McVeigh has been a great pick this year, averaging 105 in defense but spending most of his time through the midfield. Over 100,000 teams have McVeigh in their side now, and if your one of the few that don't now is possibly your last chance. Again a D/M, which can help significantly with cover.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Pearce Hanley (BRI) D/M 599.4k 104
Hanley had another massive game on the weekend, this time against a woeful Collingwood outfit. While injuries certainly played their part in the demolition of the Pies, Hanley and his 149 should not be underestimated either. Now costing just under 600 grand and averaging 104 for the season, Hanley's 53,000 coaches will be thrilled to have gotten him in.

    MIDFIELD
    ROOKIES
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Ciaran Sheehan (CAR) MID 102.4k 75 +72k
Another Irishman Ciaran Sheehan has been very impressive for the Blues over his first 2 games, averaging 75 over them and now facing a 72 grand price rise when his bubble breaks. Costing just 102 grand and looking likely to keep a spot in the side, a downgrade option to make some cash and a likely playing option to boot, Sheehan should be the more popular out of the 2 rookie options this week.

    MID-PRICERS
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Marc Murphy (CAR) MID 549.1k 110
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]SMurph has been decent this year, but hasn't really blown us away with his performances overall. Often taking a backseat to Gibbs in SC this season, and Juddy regularly now as well, Murphy is still a solid pick and is cheap enough for most to swap for Beams. Around 40,000 coaches have backed him in so far, so Murph could still be a POD for some finals.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Trent Cotchin (RIC) MID 531.2k 104
Cotch has been in great form in recent weeks, after a slower-than expected start. A 130 against the Crows has helped boost his average back up to 104 for the season, and with a price of 530 grand and selection numbers around the 40,000 mark he also could be a POD for some finals and a solid replacement for some of the injured stars.

    PREMIUMS
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Tom Rockliff (BRI) MID 691.9k 129
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Rocky has been excellent since making his way back from suspension, pumping out big score after big score to bring his season's average to 129. The only thing that has kept him out of Best Buy status is his price, which is currently sitting at 690 grand, but with the numbers he keeps producing anyone who can afford him should definitely still make the move. Playing Fremantle this week he may well face the Crowley tag, but on numbers this year if anyone can still go large against Creepy it's Rockliff.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Matt Priddis (BRI) MID 632k 115
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]The Best Buy for the week, and a very handy replacement for any one of the midfielders struck down over the weekend, is Matt Priddis. Sitting in only around 10,000 teams he is a big POD, and with an average of 115 for the year he's also up there with the best of them. Even better is he's playing Melbourne in WA this week, and is a massive contender to go huge. The only real negative for Priddis is his price, but at 630 grand he should still be affordable for many.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Rory Sloane (ADE) MID 586.2k 113
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Sloane has been a star for the Crows this season, averaging 113 for the year and pumping out some monster scores on the way. Currently in around 24,000 sides and costing only 580 grand he looks to be decent value, and could well be a popular trade in this week as the midfield carnage looks to continue.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Steele Sidebottom (COL) MID 601.9k 112
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Sidey has been in good form in recent weeks, raising his average to 112 and remaining one of few Collingwood players to consistently perform. With Pendles out last week and Swan still struggling for form Sidey has become a key player in the Pies midfield, and they'll be expecting a big one from him this week against an undermanned Giants side.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Dyson Heppell (ESS) MID 571.4k 107 ** EDIT - REPORTS OF A BROKEN HAND **
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Heppell is another player to have been excelling in the last few rounds, including a 29 odd possession second half against the Eagles on the weekend to drag the Bombers over the line. Averaging 107 for the year and priced at 570 grand he is a bit overpriced on current numbers, but has shown the recent form to back it up. A POD in around 10,000 teams the return of Watson may well mean less attention for Dyson over the last 2 rounds as well.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Jordan Lewis (HAW) MID 615.9k 107
Lewis has been huge for the Hawks, especially in the last 2 games. Cranking out a 145 against the Dockers on the weekend he was the BOG for Hawthorn, and they'll need another strong showing from him this week against their arch-rival Geelong. Costing 615 grand may deter some, but with under 2,000 selections to his name the POD value will surely make up for it.

    RUCK
    PREMIUMS
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Sam Jacobs (ADE) RUC 627.9k 116
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Big Sauce continues to perform, knocking up a 130 on the weekend in a losing side and remaining the best Ruckman in SC this year. Now averaging 116 with a price tag of 627 grand he may not appear great value, but for those without him he can often prove the difference in tight games. Currently in around 32,000 sides he is one of the more popular rucks, but for very good reason.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Stefan Martin (BRI) R/F 542.1k 111
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]S Martin has also been outstanding this year, even though he started significantly later on than most. Averaging 111 for a price of 542 grand means he is still good value, but with around 69,000 picks to his name is already in most competitive sides. His R/F eligibility is another key point for coverage, and the teams that have him have likely been saved more than a couple of donuts because of it.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Shane Mumford (GWS) RUC 510.4k 111
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Mummy started the season on fire, before injuring himself and slowly rebuilding form. Now averaging 111 for the year he is well priced at 510 grand, and a game against the Pies on the weekend is one he should be able to dominate. A good value pick, but one that will likely be ignored in the scramble to get a playing midfield.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Matthew Lobbe (PTA) RUC 557.3k 102
Lobbe had a massive game on the weekend against the Suns, and another one looms on Friday night against the Blues. 178 points was a huge boon for his 12,000 coaches, making many glad that they had kept the faith. Priced at around 560 grand for an average of 102 isn't the best value going around, but with the Blues likely to line up Wood against him he's surely in for another big one.

    FORWARD
    ROOKIES
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Jonathan Freeman (BRI) FWD 117.3k 41
Freeman is the second rookie on the bubble this week, and playing in a much improved Lions side. Averaging 41 from his first 2 games he must be a bit confused with the AFL so far, after being belted by the Crows and then dishing out a hiding to Collingwood the week after. Costing 117 grand and facing a price rise of around 23 grand he could be a decent selection, but again will likely be ignored for midfielders.

    MID-PRICERS
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Devon Smith (GWS) M/F 461k 88
Smith had a monster game against Melbourne, which may not be a huge feat for most but with only 1 player on the bench the Giants really do deserve some plaudits. Scoring a 134 for his 4,000 odd coaches and with M/F eligibility on the side he has made a solid case for SC selection, and may be the POD a few teams are looking for. Costing just over 460 grand he is certainly cheap, but with a season's average of 88 he's not for the faint of heart.

    PREMIUMS
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Robbie Gray (PTA) M/F 512k 107
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Gray bounced back in a big way against the Suns, scoring 148 and taking home the honours of possible BOG. Now costing 512 grand and averaging 107 for the season his 54,000 coaches will be more than pleased with his efforts to date, as he remains one of the top scoring forwards for the season.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Lance Franklin (SYD) FWD 539.3k 98
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Buddy had a big game in his 200th, scoring a handy 9 goals and 168 SC points to go with it. Around 61,000 coaches enjoyed his success, and none more than the ones who gave him the VC honours. Costing around 540 grand and averaging 98 for the year Buddy may have started slowly, but is finishing like a freight train. A match against the Bulldogs awaits, and Sydney will be relying on Buddy to once again kick a nice bag.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Dayne Zorko (BRI) M/F 516.9k 97
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Zorko pulled out another huge game on the weekend, in a somewhat inconsistent season so far he has played some pretty poor games along with some monsters like the 162 point effort just gone. Costing 517 grand and sitting in around 76,000 teams so far Zorks is already one of the more popular forwards, but that shouldn't stop the coaches who haven't jumped on yet.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Jarrad Waite (CAR) FWD 563.6k 93
Waite has been in great form since making his way back into the Blues side, and will once again be looking to spearhead their attack this week against the Power. Playing again in the Friday night timeslot gives those with the ability to loophole him another good shot at it, and his under 2,000 coaches will surely be making good use of that fact. A big POD, and as always a risky one, Waite has the ability to go large he just needs to make sure he can maintain it.
