Finally, the byes are over. Many SC coaches have been looking forward to fielding a full team for the last few weeks, and now we get the chance. After the carnage, and some surprisingly high scores, of the bye rounds the race to become fully upgraded is on in earnest, and many coaches will be taking the plunge on some more risky upgrades this week. The forward rookies have all come out to play, the backline has a few decent options including our Best Buy, and the midfield is chock full of guns. What better time to upgrade?
Our Best Buy of the week, is Kade Simpson. After a stand-out performance against the Crows Simmo has propelled himself to the top of the leader board for defenders this season, and isn't looking like slowing down anytime soon. The Blues really need to pick up the pace from here, and Simpson is certainly one of the players that will be relied on to perform. Previously Simpson and football maybe haven't gone together in the best of ways but here in SC, if the glove fits.....
DEFENSE
ROOKIES
Jed Bews (GEE) DEF 123.9k 50 +33k
After making the Best Buys last week due to no rookies actually being on the bubble, Bews again gets the call up and has now played 2 games. Averaging 50 and facing a 33 grand price rise this week, Bews looks the better of the 2 defensive rookie options.
Kurt Aylett (ESS) DEF 123.9k 30 +7k
Aylett is also on the bubble this week, albeit averaging 30 and only facing a price rise of around 7 grand. With not a great deal of value on offer in the backline however the young Bomber may still help a few teams.
MID-PRICERS
Michael Johnson (FRE) DEF 499.7k 98
MJ just makes the cut as a mid-pricer this week, scraping in $300 below the 500 grand mark with an average of 98. Unfortunately he's also set to lose around 2 grand this week, but with only around 10,000 selections so far his POD value should offset that small loss. The Dockers seems to be picking up speed again after a slow patch, and will be looking to Johnson for more run through defense.
PREMIUMS
Kade Simpson (CAR) DEF 567.5k 108
Simpson starred in Carlton's win over the Crows scoring 144 SC in the process, bringing his season's average up to 108 and taking him to the top of the defensive leader board. Sitting in around 25,000 teams so far Simpson is generally known for his consistency, and with the Blues run home from here their backline will likely get a work out most games. The Best Buy for the week, Simpson offers decent value and a is somewhat of a POD to date.
Jimmy Bartel (GEE) D/M 544.5k 107
Abrtel smashed out a 157 against the Roos, spending the majority of the game in the midfield while Selwood took his spot up forward. Now averaging 107 for the season so far and in around 82,000 sides, Bartel's 544 grand price tag is well worth it if you haven't jumped on yet.

MIDFIELD
MID-PRICERS
Kane Mitchell (PTA) MID 240.2k 100
While KMitch isn't a rookie he isn't far over rookie pricing, and this week is on the bubble for the Power. Averaging 100 neat from his 2 games so far this season Mitchell spent a lot of his time last year as sub, but showed considerable potential none the less. Looking at a price rise of almost 70 grand after his next game, if KMitch can avoid the vest this year he looks to be a bargain pick up.
Dion Prestia (GCS) MID 513k 107
Prestia is back again in the Best Buys, this time on the back of a 127 on the weekend to bring his average up to 107 for the year. Still sitting in only 4,000 sides the young Sun has been a stand-out for Gold Coast so far, and priced at just over 510 grand he offers plenty of POD value.
Matt Priddis (WCE) MID 531.1k 105
Priddis fired in a big way against the Pies last week, scoring 144 for his 4,000 coaches to bring his average to 105. Priced pretty well on the money for his numbers Priddis is a consistent player and could well be a handy pick-up to shuffle onto the pine once upgrades are completed.
PREMIUMS
Josh P Kennedy (SYD) MID 642.9k 123
JPK belted out a 151 in his last match to bring him to equal 3rd on the points leader board for the season to date, with an average of 123. After a poor season last year and a slow start this time around Kennedy seems to have found his form once again and now offers solid POD value as well. Only in around 13,000 sides and an obvious gun, JPK should be a popular trade in target.
Nathan Fyfe (FRE) MID 601.4k 120
Fyfe continues to perform, averaging 120 for the Dockers this season and sitting in around 37,000 teams. Priced spot on for his value at the moment while the Dockers are gearing up for their finals run, Fyfe will be another popular pick and for very good reason.
Joel Selwood (GEE) MID 557.9k 119
Ducky still looks the goods value-wise, priced around 40 grand under his current average and playing some solid footy. Already in around 80,000 sides Ducky played his best footy after the byes last season, and many will be hoping for a repeat this time around.
Tom Rockliff (BRI) MID 586k 119
Rocky has had a bit of an up and down year so far, missing a few games but generally producing the goods in the others. Now averaging 119 and priced at 586 grand he offers some reasonable value, but with only 19,000 picks so far his POD potential gives him an edge on the field. Didn't play last match with gastro, so keep an eye on teams.
Tom Liberatore (WBD) MID 613.2k 116
Libba continued on with his post-bye domination, scoring a 137 against the Suns and making it seem a lot less of a blowout than it could have been. With 39,000 selections so far Libba is a fairly popular choice, but still offers some POD value against those that haven't got him. Averaging 116 for the year to date with an unfortunate price tag of over 610 grand, those considering bringing him in need to be confident he'll keep scoring 120+.
Nick Dal Santo (NM) MID 575.7k 114
NDS had a bit of a quieter week, but playing against the Cats at Simmonds that can likely be forgiven by most. Now costing 575 grand with an average of 114 for the season so far NDS offers solid POD value for his 13,000 coaches and will be looking forward to their nice run home to finals.
Jobe Watson (ESS) MID 551.5k 113
Jobe makes the Best Buys once again, with his price of just over 550 grand and average of 113. Currently in over 60,000 sides Watson is almost at the point of being a negative POD (where coaches may avoid him for a POD), but we all know his potential to go large in big games. Looking at price rise of around 25 grand this week, Watson offers solid value but may not make the cut for many.

RUCK
MID-PRICERS
Dean Cox (WCE) RUC 491.3k 97
Big Coxy seems to be finding some decent form of late, now averaging 97 for the year and priced at a touch over 490 grand. With around 14,000 selections to his name and the Eagles starting to play some good footy he looks decent value, and won't cost too much to upgrade to for now.
PREMIUMS
Patrick Ryder (ESS) RUC 550.2k 104
Ryder continues on with his new-found form, averaging 104 from his shortened season to date and sitting in 7,000 squads. Priced on the high side going by current output Ryder still offers solid value, but will need to keep his average around the 110 mark to really make him a good pick up.
Will Minson (WBD) RUC 509.4k 96
Wilbur is again back in the Best Buys, now averaging 96 and costing just over 500 grand. Around 13,000 have backed the big man in, and after his 2013 season there's little doubt why, but the Doggies main ruckman will need to continue to improve.

FORWARD
ROOKIES
Cameron Shenton (StK) M/F 155.3k 73 +55k
The best value rookie going around this week, and the only midfield eligible one also, Shenton is on the bubble and playing some good footy. Averaging 73 including a near ton last outing, the M/F is looking at a 55 grand price rise this week and looks to be great value for swing cover if he can keep getting games. Priced higher than others at 155 grand, Shenton's scoring ability will hopefully offset that premium for most.
Charlie Cameron (ADE) FWD 122.4k 64 +52k
Cameron is another solid rookie prospect, in a week where forwards abound, averaging 64 from his first 2 matches and facing a 50 grand price rise after his next game. Priced at 122 grand he offers great value if he can keep getting named, and was a fairly popular trade in last week to boot.
Ben Lennon (RIC) FWD 162.3k 62 +38k
Lennon has also impressed in his opening 2 matches, averaging 62 for the Tigers and looking like a great draft pick. Priced at the higher end of rookies but still expecting a near 40 grand increase this week Lennon hasn't looked out of place at the top level, prospective coaches will just need to keep an eye out for Yoko.
Fletcher Roberts (WBD) FWD 123.9k 41 +21k
Rounding out the forward rookies this week is Fletcher Roberts, the young Bulldog with a 41 average. Priced at 123 grand and looking at an increase of about 20 grand after his next game, Roberts is a bit behind the other rookies on raw scoring but as with all of them job security remains an unknown.
MID-PRICERS
Dustin Martin (RIC) M/F 486.7k 97
Dusty bounced back well on the weekend, putting out a 134 to bring his seasons average up to 97. With almost 100,000 picks so far Martin has disappointed many, and may well now be entering negative POD territory. However with a price of only 486 grand and the potential to star, he may offer too good a value for those without him to resist.
PREMIUMS
Robbie Gray (PTA) M/F 555.9k 107
Gray is again a Best Buy, as he continues to score and the Power don't look like slowing down anytime soon. Averaging 107 for the season to date for his 25,000 coaches and costing just over 550 grand, Gray will be a popular pick and is already a leading forward in SC.
Brent Harvey (NM) M/F 534.2k 106
Boomer had a quieter outing this week, but still offers plenty of value. Priced at around 535 grand with an average of 106 and 24,000 selections means he has decent potential all-round, and will be a key part of North's finals aspirations. Plenty of midfield time and the ever-present danger of kicking a few make Boomer one of the better options around this week.
Luke Parker (SYD) M/F 523.5k 104
Parker has impressed this season, clearly winning the pre-season contest between him and TMitch for an opening spot (in retrospect) and rewarding his 28,000 coaches well. Now averaging 104 for the year and priced well at 523 grand, Parker could well finish his break-out season with an average closer to 110 if the chips fall his way.
