The split round in SC, while causing a lot of headaches for many coaches, also provided some massive scores for a lot of players and teams and has opened up the race for finals in a fair few leagues as well. With Brisbane playing the Ablett-less Suns and pumping out some huge scores, along with a decent chunk of other fan-favourite players racking them up, the teams with a few trades remaining are starting to face some real selection dilemmas for the weeks ahead. This has brought out some really good opportunities for luxury trades and loopholes over the SC finals, and the teams who can afford to play the loophole game will certainly be much better off for it.

This brings us to the Best Buy of the week, the forgotten Saints defender Sam Fisher. Averaging 100+ in his only two games for the year Fisher is on the bubble this week, priced cheaply and offers an excellent coverage option for those with Hibberd sitting in the backline. If the Saints can stay competitive Fisher could be a real bargain grab, as the previous fantasy gun certainly knows how to rack up the SC points. A decent run home should also help the St Kilda defender, but he has shown before that even in the tough ones he's more than capable of going large.

DEFENSE
ROOKIES
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Luke Thompson (ADE) DEF 123.9k 63 +50k
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Thompson is the only rookie on the bubble this week, and with an average of 63 from his first 2 games he looks a pretty decent one. Costing 124 grand and facing a price rise of around 50 grand this week with Adelaide's improved recent form he looks a decent chance at keeping his numbers up and possibly making some much needed cash for a last minute upgrade during SC finals. Also one of 2 Crows to hit 100% efficiency last game, and from 11 touches for a rookie that's really pretty special.

MID-PRICERS

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Sam Fisher (StK) DEF 430.3k 103 +22k
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]The Best Buy of the round, Fisher is also on the bubble this week but far from a rookie. Costing a nice 430 grand and averaging 103 from his first 2 games this season the coaches with Hibberd will likely be looking for a defensive option to finish out the season and Fisher fits the bill nicely. A price rise of around 22 grand is expected after his next game though, so for those still not sold on him he can probably be waited on for another week to see how things play out.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Kade Simpson (CAR) DEF 437k 97
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Simpson is back in the Best Buys after a 129 last outing, and with Walker out of the team for the remainder of the season he should be able to keep his scores ticking along nicely. Now in 39,000 sides but facing the Dockers in Freo tomorrow night, this week is shaping as a big test for the Blues and many will be hoping Simmo can continue to stand up when it counts.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Brodie Smith (ADE) DEF 457.2k 96
Smith pumped out a monster 144 in his last game, with an incredible 100% efficiency from 24 disposals against the struggling Pies. Adelaide seems to have worked hard on their disposal efficiency this year with several players managing 100% in games so far this season. Costing just under 460 grand with an average of 96 he offers solid value, and with only 10,000 picks to his name is a decent POD to boot.

PREMIUMS
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Pearce Hanley (BRI) D/M 548.4k 101
Hanley had a huge game last week, pumping out a 191 against the hapless Suns to top score for the round. Priced at around 550 grand and averaging 101 for the season he is a little overpriced on current numbers, but he has showed on more than a few occasions that he can be well worth the asking price when on his game. Around 47,000 coaches have the Irishman already in their sides, and the majority will be wishing he could play the Ablett-less GC every week.

MIDFIELD
PREMIUMS
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Tom Rockliff (BRI) MID 665.3k 128
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Rocky also had a day out in the Q clash, racking up 175 points and making the many coaches who made him Captain look like utter geniuses. A high price of 665 grand makes him not one for the faint of heart, but with an average of 128 for the year so far and around 38,000 selections he certainly looks the goods to finish the season strongly. On form he was in strong contention for the Best Buy both last week and this one, and only his price has kept him out of the top billing.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Josh P Kennedy (SYD) MID 571.2k 118
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]JPK has been solid this season, while having a minor down patch in recent weeks he looks to be back to top form and offers some decent value. Priced at 570 grand and averaging 118 for the season his 53,000 coaches will be hoping he can finish the year on a high.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Callan Ward (GWS) MID 583.2k 115
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Ward continues to lead the Giants both on the field and in SC this year, averaging 115 and looking a true leader. Priced at around 585 grand he is a little overs on current numbers, but always has the potential to go 120+ in any given game. Around 17,000 coaches have grabbed him so far, and a decent few more will likely bring him in for some finals loophole action.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Steve Johnson (GEE) MID 566.4k 113
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Stevie J looks back to his best, scoring 141 in his last outing and making a fair few coaches lock him in as their VC for the round. Priced at 566 grand and averaging 113 for the season he is around the mark on value, and with 54,000 picks isn't one of the more popular ones either. Facing a price rise in the vicinity of 20 grand this week, now's the time to jump on Stevie J.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Matt Priddis (WCE) MID 601.2k 113
Priddis continued his excellent recent form last round, pumping out a 149 to make his sub-9,000 coaches feel a bit better about his pricing. Costing just over 600 grand with an average of 113 for the year he doesn't offer the best value, unless of course he can keep his numbers over the 120 mark for the remainder of the SC season. With Selwood out for the year Priddis is counted on more than ever in the Eagles line-up, and while they have a tough couple of weeks coming up they then face the Dees and the Suns in the last 2 rounds of SC finals.

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Joel Selwood (GEE) MID 584.2k 118

MID-PRICERS
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Stefan Martin (BRI) R/F 471.4k 108
Big Stef Martin also had a day out against Gold Coast on the weekend, pumping out a 130 to bring his seasons average up to 108. A massive contender for pick of the year Martin is now priced at 470 grand, and is already sitting happily in around 67,000 teams. His DPP saved a fair few coaches donuts in Sandi's absence, but it remains to be seen if the Lions will risk Leuey and his dodgy achilles in the remaining few rounds.

PREMIUMS
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Todd Goldstein (NTH) RUC 585.9k 102
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Goldstein has had a quieter year this year, compared to his output from last year anyway, but is still averaging 102 and looking a solid pick in the ruck. Coming off a 131 point game against the Blues, and their rookie ruckman, North just need to improve their consistency to become a real danger team in finals. Priced on the high side at 585 grand his 18,000 selectors will be hoping he can keep up the big numbers, and with the Roos' run home he looks every chance to do so.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Patrick Ryder (ESS) RUC 507k 100
Ryder has been a bit up and down since his return, but generally has remained on the up-side of the scale including his 140 point effort last match. Costing 507 grand and averaging 100 flat for the year to date he is priced fairly well for his average and will be pushing hard in the Dons efforts to make the finals. Around 10,000 coaches have backed in the big Bomber so far, and he looks an excellent choice for a crack at the loophole over the last few weeks of the season.

FORWARD
MID-PRICERS
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Dayne Zorko (BRI) M/F 496.6k 96
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Zorko makes up the final spot in the fab four” at Brisbane, pumping out a 159 against the Suns for his 75,000 odd coaches. While already a popular pick, he has had some pretty poor games over the year dispersed with some absolute rippers. Priced around the mark at 496 grand and averaging 96 for the season, it would take a brave coach to bring him in now going by his consistency over the season, but with a price rise of 22 grand on the way for those with an interest now is the time to do it. Excluding last week anyway.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Ben McGlynn (SYD) FWD 486.3k 95
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]McGlynn had a day out against the Hawks on the weekend, racking up 124 for his 5,000 odd coaches to show what difference a solid POD can make. Costing around 485 grand with an average of 95 for the year, the Swans will be keen to bounce back from their loss to Hawthorn to really prove their premiership credentials. With Buddy, Tippett and Reid working well in the forward line, McGlynn has spent decent amounts of time through the midfield and will hopefully continue to do so.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Paul Chapman (ESS) M/F 469.5k 95
Chappy is a fan-favourite almost everywhere in the AFL, and while his scores have been a bit up and down he's certainly shown that his up games can be right in there with the best of them. Scoring a nice 122 in his last game and looking fit to face the SC finals, his 25,000 coaches will be relying on him to keep performing and offer good coverage in both the midfield and forward lines. Costing 470 grand this week but looking likely to top 500 grand after his next game, his average of 95 for the season could easily improve fairly rapidly.

PREMIUMS
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Brent Harvey (NM) M/F 566.6k 111
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Boomer is back in the Best Buys, with a current price of 566 grand and a great average, for a forward, of 111 for the season. Sitting comfortably in around 41,000 sides Harvey has proven that age is no barrier for some, but like the rest of the Roos team needs to work on his consistency against the lower placed sides. Facing a minimal price rise of around 6 grand this week, Boomer is a player that can be waited on for another week or two yet however.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Robbie Gray (PTA) M/F 520.6k 107
Gray has also returned to the Best Buys, on the back of a healthy score of 134 in his last game. Now averaging 107 for the year and priced at 520 grand he offers decent value, but Port have been slipping a bit as other teams catch up in the fitness department. Around 47,000 coaches have already snapped up the Port M/F, and in conjunction with a few of the others listed here would offer some great loophole opportunities over finals for those still with trades in hand.
