It''s the final round this weekend in the BBL and there''s still 7 teams that can make the finals so its all up to grab and the bats will be flying this round in earnest.

For us fantasy coaches its the last chance to update the team and get some value into our squad before the unlimited trades that will happen in the finals.

Bearfly has kindly written a heap of stuff about some of the players to look at this read so read on after the break

    Batsmen:
Ponting – whilst he only returned a modest score in R7 against some good bowling, he is still clearly the class batsman going around in the league
Lumb – took control of Sixers run chase last night when carrying his bat through the full 20 overs, hitting form at the right time
Klinger – can put in the occasional sub-par performance but is a quality opener
Marsh – the other class T20 player and one of the leading run scorers in the comp, only concern is his hamstring problem

Other batsmen to consider after recent performances but who can be hit or miss include Pomersbach, Burns, Ferguson, Reardon, North, Voges

    Bowlers:
Murali – opponents continue to find him hard to get away for more than a single and regularly chips in for a wicket, all class in this format/comp
Hogg – has hit form at the right time with Perth fighting for a top4 berth, plays on the usually spin friendly Adelaide Oval in R8
Beer – has been consistent throughout the comp regularly chipping in for wickets and usually at a decent ER
Laughlin – has been one of the best wicket taking bowlers throughout the comp and if you haven’t got him in your team do it now!!!
Behrendorff – his past 2 matches have been solid with some good scores, can be a little expensive at times though
Boyce – was a revelation against Hobart the other night taking the 3 vital wickets of Paine, Ponting & Birt at a nice ER, Botha not frightened to back the young spinner either and would expect him to be given another go against the Scorchers at AO
Feldman – has been consistent throughout the tournament and usually chimes in with a wicket or 2
Hazelwood – solid return against the Heat and Sixers will be looking to him to repeat that performance, top bowler when on song
Doherty – opened the bowling against the Strikers and took a couple of important wickets, was also handy with the bat late in the innings and often bobs up in the field with a catch to score some extra points
Richardson – can be a tad expensive when bowling however he bowls at a quick clip which can surprise the batsmen, seems to be in favour with both captain & coach despite his tendancy to go for a few runs, but does take wickets, also is a solid fielder who can bob up for a catch out deep

Other bowlers to consider although they can be a little hit or miss include Faulkner (has done more with the bat than ball last couple games), Gulbis, Tait, Young (might be 39 but has shown he still has it in the games he has played), Pattisson, Sheriden, McDermott (potential wildcard selection)

    A/R’s:

Botha & Thomas – clearly the 2 stand-out all-rounders so if you need to replace Polly/Samuels and haven’t got Boats or Fonz grab em now!!!
Christian – has been solid without being spectacular as we know he can be but rarely goes a game without grabbing a wicket or 2
O’Keefe – pretty much the only other A/R worth considering, hasn’t been outstanding but will always be trying his heart out

    W/K’s

Pretty much only Paine and Luderman worth considering if you need to replace Haddin!!!

    Late Mail: Outs this Week

A fair few players are omitted this week as International players leave for various reasons.
Outs in the Aussie ODI squad: George Bailey (capt), Phillip Hughes, Usman Khawaja, Aaron Finch, David Hussey, Brad Haddin (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Steven Smith, Mitchell Johnson, Ben Cutting, Mitchell Starc, Clint McKay, Xavier Doherty.
Sri Lankan squad: Malinga and Perera
Others: Pollard and Narine are back home and Samuels injured. Warne of course is suspended.

    ---

Thanks for the info Bearfly and good luck everyone with their teams.
