Alright, it's super late notice, and only 3 days to go- But with the bigbash guys throwing money at the highest scoring league, I figure why not fill all mine up! http://fantasy.bigbash.com.au/ So I've created a TooSerious league: 708389 If you've already got a squad and wanna jump in, get on it. (and hey, if you want to create a squad *then* jump on in, go for it as well! )
I'm in and the league is full Here's another: The Boys Club (885872) Obviously inspired by the fact that unless you are part of the Boys Club you can't get a game for Australia.
nice work lucas brad hodge's hammy has my plans in disarray - i have brought in fatty cosgrove and now well under the cap and looking to upgrade a few of my novelty selections to A-graders watch out for the razzlerdazzlerz!!

A good question is will current Test players, and players who are in Chairmans XI games be ineligible to play the first games in the Big Bash? I think the team formation could be very much who is informed and who isn't. With limited benches there is no room for error. My first cut team (without seeing those squads): BAT: D Hussey, Quiney, Maxwell, Rohrer (Cooper) A/R: Gayle, Botha (Edwards) W/K: Wade (D Smith) BOWL: Tait, Lee, Vettori, Doherty (Lyon) Cooper obviously might get moved. Not sure on the availability of the internationals. Gayle, Derbach and Knight should be fine as should Vettori and McCullum, but not sure on Edwards and Botha.
Those leagues are all full. Im just in a public league 813383. But happy to join another TS one. A just set my team pretty quickly without much knowledge but tried to go for players that could do well but arnt internationals. This is what I am looking at: BAT: D Hussey, White, Finch, Maxwell (Keath) A/R: Gayle, Pollard (Day) W/K: McCullum (Carters) Bowl: McKay, Nannes, Couter-Nile, Hazelwood (Herrick) Slightly worried Ive loaded up too much on the Vic players but they are the ones I know the best
Here's my first draft, pretty content with it at this stage. Does anyone know how teams are released? BAT: Warner, Voges, Cosgrove, Quiney (Rohrer) ALR: Gayle, Hopes (Butterworth) WKP: Wade (Carters) BWL: Vettori, Lee, Siddle, Doherty (Lyon)
set up a new TS league - but for those that are not sure if they can take it Too Seriously. 425146 Im in, and have set up an initial team
Good point on the injuries. Would love it if we had a listing like with AFL Rohrer - side strain Vettori - hamstring Johnson - foot Cummins - foot Watson - back/hamstring Hughes - heart muscle In terms of international actions that could affect BigBash: NZ players likely to be playing test cricket v Zim on the day of the semi/final. Pak players could be gone to play Tests in UAE v Eng missing last two rounds but unlikely to affect Afridi/Razzaq. India players are here for the Tests, none involved in the BigBash Eng players appear retired/2020 specialists. No issue WI players here for the whole series Aust Test players largely ineligible for Rd 3-7, I would steer clear from them all Botha could play until R5 but then likely needed for SAF v SL ODI series.
For some career t20 stats try http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/cricket/the-start-of-something-big/story-e6frfg8o-1226217731307 Should hopefully help me to work out which batsman to pick based on the likelihood of them bowling as well - ie bonus all rounders!
Small leagues aren't they. Here's another: TooBashful: 489453 As for what Lucas said, Cowan is available to play in the opening match after being shuffled to the 2nd Chairmans XI so you would assume anyone in the 2 day match can't play and then anyone in the 3 day match can't play the following round? As for the game, few roughies in there, gone for a certain strategy, hope it pays off!

Correct TassieHawk, the spreadsheet option is the only way to go, with Cricinfo as the source. I'm getting a very strong one together and will be looking at the mythbusters for sure. From analysis just of price and position per team, here's my thoughts. Adelaide has the highest $ value and highest average. As expected as they have a mature group that has made the champs league last few years. Makeup of team squads generally a 7-7-2-2 or something similar but the Sydney teams are going with more all rounders. Keepers - most teams have only one, but Brisbane might use McCullum as a field and play their reserve (unlikely); and it's an interesting battle between Manou and Carters (Renegades) and Dunk and Smith (Thunder). Smith could play as a batsman, and with the Thunder to be without Warner for a large amount then I think that will happen and he could be a very handy player to pick. Nevill will play majority of matches for the Sixers with Haddin out as well. You might be able to get away with a Smith/Nevill combination, but it would be risky. Keepers will also get a few more runouts than most; something very important to consider when going cheap. Batsmen who can bowl are key in this, because of the bonus points on offer. Not all have been put in as all-rounders, so analyse the slots that you can maximise both. This is where players like Maxwell come in - could get a quick 20, with the S/R bonus, then bowl enough to get wickets or economy rate bonus. All-rounders I think you must go quality. You only have two slots and you need to have someone who will both bat and bowl early in the innings. Hobart has next to no all-rounders listed. This means that some batsmen will bowl, some bowlers will bat, or that they really rate Paine's batting (WK). Or that they are fine to play a game with 4 specialist bowlers. In my view that's disaster waiting to happen. Bowlers - find those who can bat. Most bowlers will get a hit at some stage, and those who can strike the 20 with a strong strike rate will be very important. I see Brett Lee being of better value than Shaun Tait when this side of the equation (plus fielding) come into it. Work out if your bowlers are strike bowlers or restriction, because that makes a difference. I tend to think the scoring advantages strike bowlers. 2 wickets for lots is better than one wicket for 25 from 4.
