Billy Smedts - bad idea?

    To me Morris from tiges not so secure, espec when conca comes back.
    If smedts (who is pretty talented) DOES secure the backline floater role
    he cld get some excellent numbers. big IF of course. Theories?

    NAB cup form is poor considering other Geelong rookies available with great NAB cup stats

    guthrie ahead of smedts on pecking order and only looks like they will play 1 of those 2

    After the amount of time the cats have invested in Smedts after his hip injury wrote off his season last year i don't think their selection panel is going to judge him on a couple of meaningless NAB Cup games. I would think Smedts would get early games and the rest is up to him.

    IMHO, Smedts is very talented and will play better with the full Geelong backline actually trying and helping him.

    Smelly Bidts is a strange one. Form through the NAB was average at best. He seemed hurried a lot of the time but hopefully with a full backline he should improve.

    Guthrie standing in his way maybe?

    I'm tossing up between Smedts and Paine for the last spot in my backline.
