Is anyone else worried about his form and the fact he seems to be tagging alot lately? There was lots of talk when Goddard was averaging 113 early on that it could be worthwhile trading him out, yet Gibbs is averaging about 75 over the past 4 weeks now and not alot of talk about it.. Do we ride it out and hope he goes back to his opening 2 games or is it about time we looked at moving him along to someone else? He is set to drop another $30K to $414,000 after tonight.. Or is it a now a matter he's lost so much $$$ that we just need to hold onto him now?
SKT i think he's lost too much to ged rid of, but it is worrying. Playing as either a tagger or a kick behind play. Not a lot of contested possies.
Definitely a concern for me SKT - had planned to get 100+ ave out of him this season, especially when Ratten said pre-season they were planning to use him predominately in the midfield. Now in a quandry as to what to do with him!!!
Thankfully I traded him out two rounds ago when he was still 480K. Looking at potentially getting him back in after the Carlton bye. I think if you have him you need to ride it out. He will surely start scoring better. I was happy with his output tonight though
Not sure anyone is better longterm. Tonight's conditions doidn't suit & price drop makes it all the more galling. Saints, bye & Cats not that good a run. Gibbs to Lake? Still looks costly $ wise.
Hate his spuddy season but people with him (Including me) have to ride it out with his $ value.....LTI might be the answer then we HAVE to sack his lazy arse.
its a tough one but i reckon we have to put up with him and hope that he starts playing as the loose defender and racking up the possies again. at least that is what i am going to do as i dont want to trade someone i thought was a prem for just over 400k
No choice but to tough in out now... If i was upgrading next week and didnt have him in my team I would pick him up at the bargin price he will be at....
I should've traded out, but was influenced to keep him. Sometimes instinct is the way to go. Have to tough it out I guess.....
Going to hang tight and hope he finds scoring form again soon. If Chappy, for example, had fallen by a similar amount, I might have considered switching him in but it really is only trading in one premium to get another. He'll come good...we hope...
He's a Supercoach player, uses the rock like a wizard. Hopefully he stops playing on guys like Goodes in the tropical rain forest weather and starts scoring tons again. No way ill be trading him
Keep the faith. Gibbs is one of those annoying 70-70-70-130 players to average 100. Should have brought him in via trade in hindsight. One to remember for next season for sure.
