I know its early on in the week, but hey, may as well get some discussion happening.

    Whats everyones choice for captain?

    Just doing some reading on the Grand Final Rematch and a few interesting things;

Brendan Goddard was 2nd to Lenny Hays in the draw with 162 and was second to none in the loss, scoring 172

In the loss, he top scored for both teams.

Heath Shaw played 2 good games, too bad he isnt an option!

Both Pendles and Swan didnt ton up in the first game, but in the 2nd got 123 each.

Without looking elsewhere, Goddard is seeming like a good choice IMO, although he did score sub 100 earlier in the year against the Pies.

    What about everyone else?

what about sammy mitchell vs port. Hes had serious leather poisoning this year, and is now starting to get his disposal effciency up, so could go big.

Mumford vs the tigers could also be a good option

Sammy Mitchell is likely to play in the wet. Bad for disposal efficiency good for contested possessions.

    Tough one!

Man how I wish for the days of one good old permacaptain. Would make thing so much easier.

Both Gazza and Pendles have rotated as permacaptain for me this year and done pretty well out of them but dunno about this week. Don't really like Pendles though against Sts who have good taggers.

Was thinking about Gazza for this week but is he injured still? Last time he played though after his knee injury he still scored HUGE.

Duckwood is another option against Crows but the one and only time I put C on him he spudded and was very lucky to get 85!

Thoughts anyone? No doubt I will pick the wrong one :p

Go to Jasmine's article and you'll find Ablett's record V Brisbane isn't great, and even more so at the Gabba. I'm going Goddard but unsure myself, how about we say if i wasn't a Saint supporter I would'nt of gone Goddard.

    Very tough week.

    Steve Johnson v. Adelaide

    Rd 14 2011: 74 SC points, 13 disposals
    Rd 18 2009: 32 SC points, 25 disposals
    Rd 4 2009: 87 SC points, 21 disposals
    Rd 14 2008: 112 SC points, 26 disposals
    Rd 19 2007: 92 SC points, 22 disposals
    Rd 11 2007: 59 SC points, 12 disposals

Average is 76 SC points with 20 disposals.

Note: Terrible record against the Crows. Some absolute shockers there. I can’t understand the 32 SC points from 25 disposals although I note that his disposal efficiency in that game was only 52%. Coming off scores of 155 and 199. Note that prior to these games, he had only scored over 100 (a score of 102) in his previous six games.

I thought it was cloudy and 18!
    Never mind, same thing anyway.

Locking in Goddard, not going on SC for the rest of the day so I don't change my mind.

Collingwood never really tag anyone anyway. Thats why Montagna/Dal Santo usually go good against them as well

I'm torn between Selwood and Gaz. Might have to revert to the perma-captain as i can see the suns nicking it again.

I'm not a saints supporter, but going Goddard as well, bit of a smokey but fingers crossed it pays off, if not I'll be back next week with a 2nd chance!

I'm liking Selwood, Swanny or Goddard. I think i'll put the C on Selwood. Goes well against Port.
