So, a coded message from our resident captains expert has reveals that shes tracked the secret *wink wink* to Brussells and is hoping to have it extracted shortly has once again left it to me to delve through the depths of whos playing to figure out where the best value in captains lie this week.

I gotta say, its a toughy though, not for a lack of options, more so in narrowing down which of the many to choose from!

Read the full analysis over the break.

    Swan v Geelong

    Round 19, 2010: 131SC, 32 disposals
    Round 9, 2010: 106SC, 25 disposals
    Round 3, 2009: 116SC, 30 disposals
    Round 9, 2008: 109SC, 29 disposals

Form: 124, Ave against Cats: 117

Notes: Classic Swan here, he racks up the disposals against Geelong and with that, scores decent scores- good enough for captain though?!

    Pendlebury v Geelong

    Round 19, 2010: 110SC, 24 disposals
    Round 9, 2010: 96SC, 18 disposals
    Round 3, 2009: 95SC, 25 disposals
    Round 9, 2008: 141SC, 26 disposals

Form: 121, Ave against Cats: 100

Notes: While he has certainly stepped up again this year, he does look to have struggled against the Cats in recent times, though will the pink pig be up to the job again?

    Chapman v Collingwood

    Round 19, 2010: 99SC, 23 disposals
    Round 9, 2010: 114SC, 29 disposals
    Round 3, 2009: 160SC, 35 disposals

Form: 114, Ave against Pies: 124

Notes: His 160 was a huge game, and had he not had such a shocker last week, Id be telling you to lock him in, but the Chapster should definitely be in consideration this week.

    Selwood v Collingwood

    Round 19, 2010: 94SC, 23 disposals
    Round 9, 2010: 83SC, 27 disposals
    Round 3, 2009: 101SC, 26 disposals
    Round 9, 2008: 68SC, 17 disposals

    Form: 112

Notes: Wow, thats an ugly record! Id probably look elsewhere.

    Watson v Brisbane

    Round 21, 2010: 81SC, 17 disposals
    Round 19, 2009: 111SC, 32 disposals
    Round 6, 2009: 117SC, 36 disposals
    Round 15, 2008: 117SC, 24 disposals

Notes: watching the bombers this year, you can disregard last years 81, I reckon if youve got Jobe, lock him in.

Form: 120, Ave against Lions: 103

    Mumford v Port Adelaide

    Form: 132

Notes: Im not gunna drill through his past against Port, its ugly- but to see a 132 form line coming up against the hot ruck tick of the Power, its Sandi all over again!

    Goodes v Port Adelaide

    Round 12, 2010: 118SC, 17 disposals
    Round 9, 2009: 111SC, 18 disposals
    Round 9, 2008: 106SC, 22 disposals
    Round 2, 2008: 116SC, 19 disposals

    Ave against Power: 111

Notes: Hes got a decent average against the power- certainly doesnt need many touches to shine, however his recent form- al beit in a very wet game- hasnt been great.

    Chris Newman v Western Bulldogs

    Round 2, 2010: 128SC, 24 disposals
    Round 11, 2009: 117SC, 25 disposals
    Round 2, 2009: 111SC, 20 disposals
    Round 5, 2008: 70SC, 19 disposals

    Ave against Doggies: 118

Notes: I reckon youre safe to assume about 23 touches and a 115SC for Newman this week. Great if youve got him, but not really captains material.

    Boyd v Richmond

    Round 2, 2010: 121SC, 26 disposals
    Round 11, 2009: 112SC, 28 disposals
    Round 2, 2009: 92SC, 21 disposals
    Round 5, 2008: 93SC, 29 disposals

Form: 131, Ave against Tigers: 108

Notes: Hes got a great form line and is only improving against the Tigers, he should be pretty safe!

    Sandilands v West Coast

    Round 18, 2010: 58SC, 22 disposals
    Round 6, 2010: 114SC, 12 disposals
    Round 17, 2009: 136SC, 30 disposals
    Round 6, 2009: 93SC, 16 disposals
    Round 18, 2008: 77SC, 14 disposals
    Round 3, 2008: 82SC, 15 disposals

    Form: 133

Notes: His latest 58 was injury effected, so it looks that in recent times, Sandi has overcome the cold tick of the West Coast Ruck division- but it is still a risky preposition.

    Mundy v West Coast

    Round 18, 2010: 106SC, 25 disposals
    Round 6, 2010: 125SC, 21 disposals
    Round 17, 2009: 64SC, 12 disposals
    Round 6, 2009: 107SC, 17 disposals
    Round 18, 2008: 113SC, 20 disposals
    Round 3, 2008: 121SC, 25 disposals

    Form: 128

Notes: Currently holding the second highest average in the comp and looking good to finish the year as a super premium, he also holds a pretty decent record against the Eagles from when he wasnt so good. If you got him, I reckon you gotta roll the dice on him.

    Pavlich v West Coast

    Round 18, 2010: 93SC, 19 disposals
    Round 6, 2010: 125SC, 16 disposals
    Round 17, 2009: 130SC, 36 disposals
    Round 6, 2009: 111SC, 23 disposals
    Round 18, 2008: 124SC, 22 disposals
    Round 3, 2008: 131SC, 14 disposals

Form: 127, Ave against Eagles: 116

Notes: Ah Pav, he does love to don the Superman cape when playing the Derby. Looking at the pattern, surely hes due for another 130 right? Lock him in, its Wharfie time.

    Priddis v Fremantle

    Round 18, 2010: 139SC, 28 disposals
    Round 6, 2010: 109SC, 16 disposals
    Round 17, 2009: 116SC, 23 disposals
    Round 6, 2009: 122SC, 26 disposals
    Round 18, 2008: 75SC, 19 disposals
    Round 3, 2008: 152SC, 28 disposals

Form: 122, Ave against Dockers: 121

Notes: Well, if Pav dons the Superman cape, then Priddis must strap on the utility belt and other comic book references that I dont know enough to make a good joke out of, he is definitely a super solid, super consistant option is youve got him, particularly with the current formlines of the teams leading into it.

    Cox v Fremantle

    Round 18, 2010: 94SC, 14 disposals
    Round 6, 2010: 96SC, 17 disposals
    Round 6, 2009: 72SC, 24 disposals
    Round 18, 2008: 81SC, 25 disposals
    Round 3, 2008: 86SC, 22 disposals

    Form: 114

Notes: I added in Cox just to highlight the fact that boy, he just doesnt perform against 211! With the GC coming up against the Crows, will anyone have the cajones to play Smith over him?

Final notes: Dare I say, there are so many good picks to chose from, but I reckon that not many will share a lot of the best ones- In no particular order though: Swan, Mundy, Pav, Priddis, Boyd, Watson and Mumford all look headed to some tasty scores this week.

So, who are you thinking this week?
