Note: Solid record against St Kilda with a huge score in 2013. In the game last year Pendlebury was tagged by Weller before he got subbed off in the first quarter with concussion. Jones then went to him. He was tagged by Jones in 2013 but still managed to pick up a massive 161 SC points. In 2012, he played head to head against Goddard.

Note: He was a late withdrawal from the game in Round 11 last year. Solid average against St Kilda. In 2013, he played against a combination of Montagna, Armitage and Steven. Scored 97 in 2012 playing head to head against Hayes. Was tagged by Jones when he scored his huge 156 in Round 21 2011.

    CARLTON v. ESSENDON

    Rd 4 2011: 111 SC points, 23 disposals

Average is 126 SC points with 30 disposals.

Note: Murphy missed the drawn game last year. In his absence, Hocking went to tag Gibbs. Great record against Essendon however he has struggled against them recently (averaging 99 from his past three games against them). In Round 3 last year, he was tagged by Hocking.

    Rd 18 2011: 119 SC points, 19 disposals
    Rd 8 2011: 121 SC points, 28 disposals

Average is 118 SC points with 28 disposals.

Note: Massive game against West Coast most recently helped by his 7 tackles, 4 score assists and 4 hitouts. He is normally tagged by Selwood.

In my opinion, Pendlebury is the best option (if he is playing) in what should be a close game with St Kilda. Fyfe is the next standout. Following these two, I would have difficulty separating JP Kennedy against the Giants and Selwood against the Suns.

    Good luck all!

Nathaniel Fyfe has assumed the position as the new perma captain.

This is Fyfe's world. We are all just living in it

Fyfe is perfectly positioned for captain this week, but who to use as VC loophole ?

      Up: Sloane
      Dn: Pendlebury / Swan

I'll be putting the VC on Goldstein myself. Last weeks score as well as going up against a solo Ryder this week (Redden dropped, Lobbe still not in) I think he has a great chance of scoring large again in melbourne. The new permaCaptain for me is Fyfe.

Pendles VC for me with Fyfe C, it makes the loophole easier to work out. I'll also be using Lambert to loophole Cripps & Heeney, if Cripps doesnt fire up, I can shift Heeney on the ground.

I'm loopholing with Nic Nat & Read (Gee), Fyfe as C.
So my VC can come from any game apart from the last two of the round really. Although would be pretty tight if naming a VC from Hawks v Doggies.

I like K'noath's idea above picking a not so obviouis VC trying to snag a big one. Given Pendles is 50/50 to play, and if he does surely he can't be 100%, I think I may go Sloane or Goldy for VC. Or maybe even Swan as I love watching Friday night footy with your VC running around !

Interesting after round 1 a mid-priced rookie strategy was all the talk, one week later and its Goldy as VC.
