Dane Swan who won the MVP Leigh Matthews Award has missed out on a chance to even defend his title this year, three are nominated from each club, and Pendlebury, Thomas and Cloke made it in ahead of him. Personally I'd have Swan ahead of Daisy.

    ADELAIDE -
    Johncock, Rutten and Thompson.
    BRISBANE -
    Black, Rockliff and Redden.
    CARLTON -
    Judd, Simpson and Murphy.
    COLLINGWOOD -
    Pendlebury, Thomas and Cloke.
    ESSENDON -
    Heppell, Fletcher and Watson.
    FREMANTLE -
    McPharlin, Pavlich and Fyfe.
    GEELONG -
    Kelly, Selwood and Corey.
    GOLD COAST -
    Ablett, Bock and Rischitelli.
    HAWTHORN -
    Gibson, Mitchell and Franklin.
    MELBOURNE -
    McKenzie, Moloney and Trengove.
    NORTH MELBOURNE -
    Petrie, Swallow and Wells.
    PORT ADELAIDE -
    Cassisi, Hartlett and Boak.
    RICHMOND -
    Cotchin, Deledio amd Newman.
    ST KILDA -
    Dal Santo, Fisher and Dempster.
    SYDNEY -
    O'Keefe, Goodes and Bolton.
    WEST COAST -
    Glass, Priddis and Cox.
    WESTERN BULLDOGS -
    Griffen, Boyd and Murphy.

    I'm surprised with;
    *Thomas over Swan*
    *Cassisi over Chaplin/Gray*
    *Corey ahead of Enright/Stevie J*

    Good to see;
    *Dempster recognized*

    Thoughts?
    Surprised/Happy with?

I love a good rant without looking at how these awards are handed out (not just here, but all over the place)

The PLAYERS vote on this award. So his own teammates have decided he wasnt in Collingwoods top 3 players this year...

Now every player votes on the best players from every other club (cant vote on their own club in next stage) and thats how they find the AFLPA MVP.. Its all voted by the PLAYERS...... So blame his team mates, but clearly they know who plays what role and who does what throughout the year... Hence Sean Dempster being nominated, im sure 99% of the media and other supporters wouldnt recognize that he is in Saints top 3 players this year.....

Love that Heppell made the list.

It just shows both a) how awesome he is, and b) How much Essendon needs more stars! :D

Pies players probably jealous that Swan got the trip to Arizona paid by the club.

Reckon it will be between Judd, Pendlebury and Ablett.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if GAJ saluted again. His play this year has been inspirational.

Hopefully Dempster will win, doubt he will though, Pendles, gaz or Judd will be up there, but I'm saying it now, look out for Fyfe.

    Dempster ROFL
Will struggle to get a vote.

Certainly in the best 3 Saints this year haha!

I think he's not bad when you consider he plays on probably the 3rd most damaging player in the opposing team. I'd suggest Jones and another mid (e.g Montagna/NDS hurting the other way) would take the top 2.

But when you go for the MVP you're batting with the big boys. You need to win the ball and do something with it not just stop others.

GAJ will probably win it, but don't think that Scully or Ward will do the same next year. Poles apart.
