Heya fellas, the folk over at Contested Footy have been working hard this season to put together a number of reviews on this years draft pool. There work is always good reading, and have offered to share a little taster on TS. Who was I to say no!! So check it out.
Over at ContestedFooty we love the offseason. Our particular passion is for the [span style="text-decoration:underline">NAB AFL Draft. There is nothing as exciting as the prospect of a young player coming into your team. That player has the potential to be the difference between your club succeeding over the next decade or floundering down the bottom searching for the next big thing. Luckily for us those young players are just as relevant for your SuperCoach or Dream Team. So with Too Serious providing their blessing, we thought we’d share with you five AFL Draft Prospects that you should keep an eye out for.

Lachlan Whitfield
Lachie will go top two in the 2012 AFL Draft and rightly so. He is a natural footballer with an exceptional work rate. Whitfield is predominately an outside player but is also capable of winning his own football. Whitfield is an exciting prospect who is arguably the best player in this year’s draft, from a fantasy football perspective though he won’t provide much value. He’ll be eased into football after playing school footy for most of the year. Skip him for your team.

Oliver Wines
Another likely top 10 draft pick here, Wines is a strong bodied midfielder who reads the game well and attacks the football like a man possessed
A personal favorite of mine, I expect Wines to play a lot of football next year. He is AFL ready, a massive accumulator of the football and uses it well once he has possession. Lock him in for SuperCoach and consider strongly for Dream Team.

Jake Stringer
Stringer isn’t going to get picked in the top 10 of the draft, which for us is a good thing as he won’t be as expensive!
Stringer is a utility in the Luke Hodge mould, a lofty comparison but one that isn’t just being made by me. His attack on the football is first rate, he is strong overhead and he possesses quality disposal.
If he goes to the right club he could play every game next year. Make sure you think long and hard about including him in your team.

Jack Viney
Viney has already been selected by Melbourne as a father-son pick and he was AFL ready last year.
An inside midfielder who can run all Viney is a natural leader and regardless of Melbourne’s intention to ease him into AFL football he’ll play this year and play well.
Being a later pick due to the father-son rule Viney is a must have in your team because he won’t cost the world.

Jonathan O’Rourke
O’Rourke is likely a top 5 draft pick and is an exciting inside player which is rare.
O’Rourke’s strength is his ability to burst out of a pack and deliver the football well, much like Chris Judd did in his younger years. O’Rourke isn’t Chris Judd to be clear, but does play the game a lot like him.
He’ll be a great player and highly rated but should probably only be a part of your SuperCoach/Dream Team if you are looking for a unique selection.

If you have made it this far and have a real interest in what other AFL Draft Prospects are out there then come check out all our [span style="text-decoration:underline">Draft Profiles here.
