Hey guys another massive week in the EPL. Liverpool have got new owners but find themselves sitting in 19th spot. Wayne Rooney is not happy at Mancehster United and has put contract talks off(he still has 20 months left to run). Also came off the bench. Chelsea dropped more points but had a few outs so they will be happy getting a point at Villa which they have had troubles in the past. First time in 10 years United gave up a 2 nill lead at half time and not win. Manchester City did it the hard way against Blackpool but are now 3 points clear in 2nd.
Gameweek 8 Review
Arsenal Vs Birmingham
Arsenal played host to Birmingham here in a must win game for the Gunners. Didnt start weel for them with Squaliaci heading home from a Nasri freekick only to be ruled offside and moments later the 6"8 striker Zigic towering over the defence and headin home just past the half hour mark. On 40 minutes Chamakh went down rather easily and Arsenal were gifted a soft penalty which Nasri ended up converting. Chamakah then with some nice footwork rounded keeper Ben Foster just after the break to put through what ended up being the winning goal. Rising star Jack Wilshire got sent off in the last minute of injury time with a very poor tackle. Arsenal winning 2-1.
Manchester United Vs West Brom
United player host to West Brom here and West brom found them in uncharted waters starting this league match in 6th spot, however they didnt get off to the best start with Hernandez starting in front of Rooney latching onto a Nani freekick that Scott Carson could only parry after 5 minutes. Afetr 25 minutes it was 2-0 as some great 1-2 work from Berbatov and Nani, with the later with the finsh. United took a 2-0 lead into half time but West Brom came out firing and were rewarded after 50 minutes with a cross coming in and some scrappy defending with Patrice Evra putting on into his own net. 5 minutes later West Brom were equal with a massive holwer from Edwin Van Der Sar dropping the simplest of crosses and Tchoyi tapping into an open net with game finishing 2 all.
Aston Villa Vs Chelsea
The league leaders travelled to Villa park were they have only won once in 10 years and were without several big names including Lampard, Drogba and Alex. Villa started off great and after 2 minutes had new boy Stephen Ireland looking for hid first goal for Villa just shooting wide. Ivanovich later in the game on 77 minutes won a good header from a corner only for the ball to bounce off the upright. Chelseas real other great chance fell to Anelka after 88 minutes but the striker too headed into the upright. With the minutes ticking away the young Chelsea defender McEachran gave away the ball to easy and Reo Coker had a chance to steal the win but his shot just went wide. Both teams would be happy with the 0-0 result.

Wolves Vs West Ham
In the battle of the bottom two sides, this game was definately a tale of 2 halves. Wolves dominated the first half and were on the board after 15 minutes after a cross came in and Rob Green could only parry it as far as Matt Jarvis who volleyed home into an empty net. Rob Green then came to the rescue of West Ham with some top class saves later in the half. In the 2nd half West ham came out firing and after 52 minutes were awarded a penalty after Foley fouled Obinna inside the box. Matthew Upson then converted his second penalty of the season. Later in the game Piqouinne had a great chance to get all the points but his shoot cannoned off the croassbar. With the final whistle approaching Piqouinne then he had the winner only for the ref to award him a yellow card for handball. Game finishing 1all.
Fulham Vs Tottenham
Fulham started off the more positive and had the lead after 30 minutes after a Dempsey cross fell into the path of Camara and he fied past Gomes to put Fulham on top. But only a minute later spurs were back level with some great work down the left from Bale set up Van Der Vaart, whos cheeky lob came back off the crossbar for Pavlychenko to tap in. Ledley King was picked to play and after being severly underdone, did a hamstring just before half time. On the hour mark Spurs had a corner only for Fulham defender to clear only as far as Tom Huddlestone and from 25 yards fired a bullet into the bottom left corner. There was controversy however with the assistant ref flagging offside. Gallas was the play offside however after consultation the ref awarded the goal saying Gallas didnt interfere. Spurs winning 2-1
Bolton Vs Stoke
Bolton opened the scoring here in the 22nd minute with soem great 1-2 play from Davies and Lee seing Lee finishing off the good work. Jermaine Pennant then tested the Bolton with his 30th minute freekick smashing against the crossbar. In the second half Stoke got back on level terms with Rory Delap putting home from a corner on 48 minutes. The game would go down to the wire with Ivan Klasnic having an eventful injury time. First he scored the winning goal that came in from a long throw. Then managed to get booked twice in the last 2 minutes to earn a red card. Bolton winning 2-1.
Newcastle Vs Wigan
Old Newcastle boy Charles NZogbia was copping it from the crowd and responded the best possible way on 22 minutes Franco Di Santo lobbed a cross in took a deflection and NZogbia was there to head home. 1 minute later Di Santo again teamed with NZogbia again and NZogbia blasted home to put Wigan up 2 nil on the road. Shola Ameobi was bought on around the hour mark and 10 minutes later headed home a Gutierez cross to give the Toon a chance. In the 4th minute of injury time Newcastle had a corner Gutierez flicking on by Carrol and Coloccini heading home his first goal for the club. Game finishing 2-2.
Everton Vs Liverpool
Liverpool have had a big week with their ownership be battled out in the court. In the end they got what they want and Boston Red Sox owner John Henry has taken over the club. However hw wouldnt have been impressed with his new side as they went down after 33 minutes with Coleman making a good run down the right and crossing in for Cahill to score his 5th derby goal and being Evertons highest scorer post war in the Merseyside derby. Everton controlled play most of the game and on 50 minutes they doubled their lead and secured the points. Corner was cleared out by Liverpool only to Arteta who was waiting at the edge of the box and fired a swerving shot past Riena. Everton winning 2-0.
Blackpool Vs Manchester City
Manchester City traveled to the seaside to face a Blackpool team who had plenty of confidence after knkcoing off Liverpool at Anfield. And Blackpool started off great dominating the first half but didnt really have too many clear shot chances. The second half opened up a DJ Campbell had a great chance to put Blackpool ahead but fired wide when 1-1 with Joe Hart. After 65 minutes David Silva came on for the non-influential Adebayor. 2 minutes later he was in the thick of things crossing for Tevez who got an unbelieveable touch to beat Matthew Gilks. Blackpool fought back and equalized 10 minutes later. Charlie Adam who had a great game whipped in a freekick and supersub Marlon Harwood flicked on a header past Joe Hart. Less then a minute later City caught Blackpool napping Tevez won the ball back and on his left the ball took a deflection past Gilks and City had the lead again. On 90 minutes Tevez earnt a freekick just outside the box. Blackpool again were kept napping and a bit on individual brilliance from David Silva beating 3 defenders then curling one in at the far post to make the game comfortable for City 3-1. Note the only 2 yellow cards for the game were against Tevez and Silva both for their goal celebrations lol. Right at the end Blackpool grabbed a consolation goal with Taylor Fletcher poaching from a corner. Man City winning 3-2
Blackburn Vs Sunderland
The Monday night kick-off took palce bwteen 15th and 16th. And for a game that finished 0-0 it had its excitement. Samba was sent off in injury time of the first half for a professional foul and really couldnt have had any arguments. Darren Bent wasted 3 very good chances to get a winner for Sunderland but Paul Robinson stood tall inbetween the sticks for Backburn making some crucial saves.

Toffees with 3 clean sheets 2 wins and a win against the old rival Liverpool are brimming with confidence. This is the 2nd match of the round only just but with Evertons outs and the probabiblity Artera wont suit up i can see Spurs nudging this one 2-1.
Birmingham vs Blackpool
The ever reliable Birm defence at home vs the attacking flair of Blackpool. I dont know what to think but i reckon they will cancel each other out. How long will Blackpool keep this up. The premier league has history of 1 promoted team always causing a stir but around the 10 game mark it dies down. 1-1 or 2-2 to finish this game.
Chelsea vs Wolves
How many will they score, what record will be broken? all the questions facing this game. But with Lampard having a long stay out Drogba battling illness, although from all reports hes ok will Chelsea risk him. Malouda the flat track bully will he again prove to get us fantasy players some points? So many questions in this game. Personally reckon neither will happen. Malouda to fail but Cheslea to find a way. Chelsea 2-0.
Sunderland vs Aston Villa
Aston Villa should win this but I have no confidence in their away form. They keep the league leader goaless but cant do it on the road. Sunderland love the big stagte but is Villa a big enough stage?? This game to will be canceled out and will finish 1-1.
West Brom vs Fulham
West Brom have been exceptional at the start and thats why they are sitting 6th, but the same question remains can they keep it up? They should get Odemwengie back fof fire power, but Fulham be shattered about their controversial loss last week i can see another draw here( got to stop sitting on fence). 1-1
Wigan vs Bolton
Fine i will go get a can of harden the fuck up or some testoerone( to grow some balls)Â because I cant split these teams. Wigan have found some form and have the advantage of a home field. Bolton stole a win last week. If the last 3 games were played at the other venue i would have no problem tipping. I will tip more goals here though 2-2.
West Ham Vs Newcastle.
West Ham will win, I dont have much to support the theory except Newcastle are going through the motions like usual and West Ham arent playing all that bad, and back at home they will get the job done. 2-1
Stoke vs Manchester United
Well United what a week they have had Van Der Dar gives away 2 points at home. Their best player says he wants out and they struggle against the Turkish champs at home during the week in champ league. United havent won on the road yet and personally I cant see it happening this week they will lose more points and be further away from the top 2. 1-1 draw.
Liverpool Vs Blackburn
New owners?? Still no good. They were outclassed outplayed in every aspect off last weeks game. I dont have a reason why the will win except for the fact they are Liverpool. That hasnt worked lately. They will drop more points and stay 19th will Wolves taking up bottom spot after this week.
Manchester City vs Arsenal
Ok i got bias this is my match of the round. Man City have won 4 on the trot, but still cant find the right formular to dominate, against a better team last week would have dropped points. Arsenal well they love playing the other teams in the champs league but cant get it done in England. Gunners have a 12 GD in Europe after 3 games yet a GD of 8 in England. Fabregas got minutes during the week so im, unsure how Wenger will play him this week but hes back. City play the big teams better as they dominated Chelsea at home 3 weeks ago. Man City will win their 5th in a row and bridge a bigger gap on the chasing pack with a 2-1 win.
