Hey guys a little late but better late then never

The English Premier League rapped up last weekend(after 9 quick months), Champions League final on the weekend with Barcalona proving how good they are and especially Lionel Messi. and now the playoffs are over with Swansea clinching the last premier league spot for next year. We are just about to hit June and the season gets underway in 2 and a half months, yes how bout that for an off season, with the Charity Shield being played between Manchester United (champions) and Manchester City (FA Cup winners) on the 7th of August. Blackpool all though relegated COULD be in the Europa league next season based on fair play results LOL. Birmingham who are relegated will compete in the Europa for winning the League Cup as well as Stoke for being FA cup finalists.

Anyway the premier league season in review

Manchester United secured there 12th English Premier League title and 19th top flight title to go outright first for the most top flight English titles 1 more then Liverpool (18). This season will go down as one of the title chases where no one really wanted to win it(teams dropping points they really shouldnt), however Manchester United by their own admissions will admit this season wasnt one of their best but they did enough to get the job done, essesntially sealing the title 2 weeks out with a 2-0 over Chelsea. Chelsea(2nd) finished 2nd a further 9 points and thus seeing their manager Carlo Ancielotti sacked 1 hour after there loss to Everton on the final day. Chelsea started off the season on fire and all the experts saying the title is over winning their first 6 matches with a goal difference of 20+, however their mid season form was dreadful and at one stage it looked like the wouldnt even finish in the top 4!!! Chelsea got desperate and splashed out 50 mill pound on an injury prone Fernando Torres and even after the signing they improved Torres only managed to score 1 goal in his Campaign for Chelsea. Chelsea came home like a train and at one stage they were only 3 points behing United until United defeated them 2 weeks out to put the Blues out of their misery, overall a very poor season for Chelsea. Manchester City finished the season in 3rd after a very successful season with all the money spent, they also won the FA cup (first trophey in 35 years). Manchester Citys goal was to finish top 4 and that never look threatened at one stage they were title challengers but dropped crucial points over the Christmas period and then stole the automatic champions league qualfication off Arsenal. Arsenal had a terrible year in the end finishing 4th. Everytime they had a chance to go clear on top or take top spot they choked and their looks serious problems at the club. The fans arent happy with Wenger, their best player Fabregas cant keep fit and the speculation keeps growing over will he stay will he go to Barcalona or will he jump for the cash at Manchester City. Arsenal afetr finishing 4th now will have a tough qualfication round against some tough opponents including Bayern Munich, Udinese, Dynamo Kiev at the like.

Tottenham Hotspur(5th) had a decent season but they will be disappointed they couldnt get back to the champions league. It was always going to be tough to back-up after last seasons effort and then juggling playing the Champions League. Spurs had a great run in the champions league making it to the final 8 however running into Real Madrid, who were always going to be too strong for them. Spurs can look at the positives by defeateing both Milan clubs on their home ground and very good effort indeed. Rafael Van Der Vaart was an outstanding signing at only 8 mill just before the season and was their leading scorer scoring more then Defoe Pavluchenko and Crouch, pretty much summing up Spurs season. Liverpool finished 6th and at one stage in a relegation battle and then latter in the season possible top 4 finishers pretty much summing up their season. They appointed Roy Hodgson at the start of the season but didnt go well at all and ended up sacking him 3 months in with Liverpool sitting just above the relegation zone. They hired as intermin manager Kenny Dalgliesh a club champions who hadnt managed for close to 10 years. He became an instant success and took the club up the table ending up in 6th. He was rewarded with the job permanently. Everton (7th) as they did sneak under the radar but normally perform well. Like usual they started off the season extremely slow but eneded up crawling their way up the ladder by season end. With only 5th and cup finalists qualifying for Europe they will not be in the Europa League next season

The Mid table clubs Fulham (8th) Aston Villa (9th) Sunderland (10th) West Brom (11th) Newcastle (12th) Stoke (13th) and Bolton (14th) will all be happy not to be stuck in the relegation dog fight. Newcastle and West Brom performed extremely well coming up from the Championship last season. Bolton will be dissappointed finishing in 14th when start of the season they were contending for a European spot.

Relegation dog fight - West Ham were doomed on the 2nd last weekend but that still left 5 clubs to battle it out on the final day with 2 clubs to go down. What a last day it was at one stage except for Blackburn who won their last game and finishing (15th) every team was potentially relegated at one stage of the afternoon. Wigan (16th) looked doomed a month from seasons end up secured 8 points out of a possible 12 at the end of the season including 3 on the last day to keep themselves up. Wolves (17th) have never seen a team celebrate so hard after a loss but in the end it was a win for them. After being 3-0 down at half time against Blackburn on the last day they were all but relegated but 2 goals in the 2nd half helped their goal difference and kept them up as they scored more goals then Birmingham City (18th Relegated). Birmingham were cruising this season being midtable. They actually ended up stealing the League Cup from Arsenal at the end of Febuary but after that everything went pear shaped and ending up being relegated in the last minute of their season. They played spurs last game and a point would have been enough but conceeded in injury time to go down. Blackpool (19th Relegated) were alwats going to find it tough coming up from the Championship the league before a club the ave 8k supporters to their games didnt have a ground up to PL standards, tried and tried all season and started off great guns at one stage sitting mid table, but as the season went on their players got tired and when captain Charlie Adam didnt play they got flogged. West Ham (20th) had a shocking year and with some off the class they have in their squad it will be a very disappointing result for the Hammers.

    Fantasy Premier League Review

TooSerious had a few leagues going to i will just give a quick write up of them

The Tooserious Classic league had a 146 occupents with Tim Hoopers team the Real WandererAs finishing on top with a mammoth 2169 points and finishing ranked 2,131 out of almost 2,500,000 players great effort mate. Another shout out to my team mate in the TooSerious tossers 5A-Side was Ned Flanders finishing 4th. Also the league finished a very respeectable 197 out of over 223,000 leagues.

There was also 2 H2H leagues run through TooSerious in the first league Kwang XIs took out the title finishing with 76 points from The Flogs and Muscats boys. At the other end of the table looks like Egnlish Superstars, Turtlemanistic and Torn are relegated. The League was ranked 1,591 out off 223,000 +.

In the other H2H league(Net) Fantasy Freak took out the title 7 points clear of the Under Achievers, at the other end of the table the Average coont got relegated lol how bout that as long with Thebod and 9/11 was staged. that league finished a respectable 776 out off 223,000+.

Another little competition running was the 5A-Side, which TooSerious had 4 teams involved

Tooserious 1 represented by Gumby Anthak Benji, StKildaThunda and Placetino finished the season 5th overall out of 12 teams not a bad effort

TooSeriousTossers were represented by Ned Flanders, Myself, JoshyC, Walesy and Soups after a very slow start to the season ended up equal with the 1s but 1 spot below on goal difference.

TooSeriousTree ended up holding up the 5A-Side ladder and were represented by Tricky , Celine , Mattybomb, PokerSnaz and Macca- however in the last round the did beat the Tossers

TooSeriousToo (champions) or in soccer were top when the season was ll said and done they did great all year and really represented the TooSerious crew with flying colors - The Spiritual leader Crew was a massive influence on the team getting the job done. UnderAchievers was Chris Judd like and when there was a game in the balance he always dragged his team over the line. AusJB - one of the most underated players in the Toos team, week in week out was the glue that kept this team together. Elevianthan - one of those teamates that every team needs to be successful - His best feat of the season came when he knocked off Binky the loud mouth coont in the League cup(another little competition we all got involed in with the FanFooty boys). and Finally Jo lead the team to vicotry time and time again although she wasnt pumping out the scores she is in SuperCoach she had a great support cast.

There was a finals system that pretty much included everyone so i dont believe it took on great significance rather the to fill in the last few weeks of the EPL season when we were all here focussing pretty hard on our SuperCoach sides. In the round robin the Toos were in the final but lost but hey that round robin meant as much as the NAB cup does i believe.

There is also a FanFooty ashes league going down as well currnetly ranked 42, Dyson leads the table (pretty sure hes not one of ours )

We also had a VS EPL league which is run like SuperCoach with salaries and BEs and all that kind of stuff but wasnt invovled so if anyone got the result from that fell free to post it.

I think thats pretty much it to rap up the EPL season, any rumours about whos going where next season?? How close was I to the team of the season(yes i know there was a few MC players in there), anything i have missed out feel free to post it, anyway all the best and well be back of the think of things very soon indeed....
