QPR v Spurs 0-0 Julio Cesar’s outstanding double save from Defoe and Adebayor helped to end Spurs record of scoring in every away game this season. Redknapp probably knows better than most how to keep Bale quiet and it showed. An excellent display from QPR’s back four that at the moment still includes Ryan Nelsen. While Taarabt was again deployed as the main striker. BAE, Caulker and Dempsey were all on the bench. Aston Villa v Southampton 0-1 DGW’ers Saints took the points thanks to Ricky Lambert’s controversial penalty as Villa plummeted into the relegation zone. Rodriguez claimed the assist with a blatant dive which now extends Saints impressive run with only two losses in 11 league games. Boruc continued in goals, while Shaw came off injured and is doubtful for the Chelsea match. Villa are in strife and continue to struggle to score, especially when Benteke can’t find the target. Stoke v Chelsea 0-4 A surprise result here but a very welcome one with many stocking up on DWG’ers Chelsea. Mata was again instrumental with three assists. Walters even more so with a missed penalty and two OG’s. Hazard scored a belter and Lampard scored a penalty. Mata owners will hope he’ll start v Soton after getting subbed halfway through the second half. Cahill was missing for the birth of his baby while JT came on a second half sub after weeks out with injury. Chelsea have now only conceded two goals in five league matches while the previously water-tight Potters defence has now conceded 10 in 3 games. Fulham v Wigan 1-1 Fulham have had a mostly disappointing season but have looked their most dangerous with Berbatov up top and Ruiz tucked in. Frustratingly Jol decided to put in Petric at CF and drop Ruiz back to CM with Berba tucked in. Riise again sat on the bench replaced by Richardson. Karagounis scored for The Cottagers. Wigan were the better team with Di Santo capping a fine performance with an exquisite goal as Kone represents his country at The ACON. Ramis was stretchered off with ligament damage. Norwich v Newcastle 0-0 Cisse was missing in action in a poor game. Debuchy seemed to struggle with the pace of the game and Cabaye made a subs appearance after his injury lay-off. Whittaker is still injured so Martin continues at full-back. Holt made his return from injury via the subs bench. A first away CS of the season for Newcastle who have agreed a fee with Marseille for Loic Remy. Sunderland v West Ham 3-0 West Ham’s terrible away form continues and they lost another defender to injury with Collins coming off with a calf injury. This should ensure game-time for Tomkins next week. Noble was also out injured and is doubtful for next week. Chamakh who’ll be unavailable next week against The Gunners made a nuisance of himself when he came on. Johnson continues to impress for Sunderland with a goal while Larsson and McLean also got on the scoresheet. Arsenal v Man City 0-2 Arsenal disappointed before their DGW and now have Koscielney suspended for one while Arteta is out with a pulled calf. Walcott again started through the middle and was unlucky not to score as Giroud warmed the bench until replacing Podolski on 57mins. Diaby returned from injury. Kompany is appealing the red that would see him miss three. Nastasic was recalled and has started 12 of the last 14 league games. Kolarov made a 2min cameo after injury. Dzeko (1 goal) and Tevez (2 assists) were the main protagonists but will most likely be fighting for the remaining forward spot next week as Aguero returns from injury. Man Utd v Liverpool 2-1 RVP keeps purring along with his 10th goal in 10 games. Vidic with the luckiest goal ever seen robbed RVP of an assist and Evra of a goal. Evra did however notch two assists. Young and Vidic both came off with injury which saw Smalling and Valencia both came off the bench. Welbeck and Kagawa both started. Gerrard carried on his fine form with another assist for substitute Sturridge. Borini made a long awaited return from injury and Sterling’s chances of significant game-time seem to be diminishing by the week. Wisdom continues to deputise for Enrique. Everton v Swansea 0-0 A first CS for Everton in 17 games as Swansea continue to perfect their stifling of opponents away from home. Swansea have conceded two goals in five away games. Jelavic, Fellaini and Michu unsurprisingly were the most threatening. Reading v WBA 3-2 Lukaka scored twice as he continues serious game time in the absence of Long. There was also some assist action from Morrison as he returns to form. Meanwhile for Reading, perma-cap The Pog scored his third goal in three games as the familiar names of Kebe and Le Fondre (sub) also chipped in with goals. In the short-term Harte (3.8) continues to get game time.
