Welcome to Game Week 4 all, hope the International break wasnt too boring for everyone.
I just want to start by again mentioning the <a href="http://www.arsenalaustralia.com.au">Arsenal Australia Club[/url] for all you Victorian based gOOners out there. We have meets at the Celtic Club (corner of Queen St & La Trobe St) in the city and there is a meet this week for the game at the Emirates to Bolton on Saturday night. I will be there a bit early to watch the last half of the Manure game but I encourage everyone to come down as there is a fantastic atmosphere and we have a great time. I was the only one representing TooSerious last week, so get down there and support the Arsenal, sing a song, have a few pints and have some fun with us. Let me know if you plan on attending so we can catch up for a beer or two.
Now the news is that Lampard is a certainty to start against his old club; West Ham United, which can only make it even worse for the Hammers who are rapidily shortening with the bookies to be relegated. Terry is also available and Bosingwa is ready for a return as well. Dirk Kuyt from Liverpool is out with a shoulder for 4 or so weeks and from Arsenal, we have both Walcott and Van Persie (again) are out for 2 and 6 weeks respectively. Schwarzer and Duff from Fulham are expected to return this week, while Andy Carroll is in doubt for the Jordies.
Alex Baptiste from Blackpool is doubt with a hand injury, while Richards, Balotelli and Boateng have all been cleared to return for City. Frasier Campbell has been confirmed as being out for the season with a knee injury for Sunderland, while Dawson is out for 8 weeks with a knee for Tottenham. Thomas Hitzlsperger is right to return for the Hammers while Steven Ireland is out for an extended period with a hamstring for the Villians. Rio Ferdinand and Anderson are both right to return for Man Utd, while Sorrenson and Saha are both out for extended periods with elbow and knee injuries for Stoke and Everton respectively.
The transfer window also snapped shut on the 31st at midnight with Rafael Van Der Vaart signing for Tottenham right on the deadline and has been priced at 7.5m in FPL which is an absolute steal for a player of his calibre, but wait a few weeks to see how Harry intends to use him. Just a couple of hundred meters down the N5 where Fulham refused to budge on Schwarzer leaving Arsenal without a new keeper in the process but the rumour mills have it that the Socceroos stopper will be leaving in the January transfer window on a free transfer. Paul Konchesky completed his move to Liverpool and looks to be good value at 5.0m but look to get in after the trip to Old Trafford next week, as this will give you a chance to see how he fits in Anfield but he should get regular game time. Tom Cleverley completed his move to Wigan and offers some good value at 4.5m, while Jermaine Pennant and Alexander Hleb both look to be good value at 5.0m each for Stoke and Birmingham respectively.
More over the break... <!--more-->
