Gday all Fez here filling in for the injured JoshyC. Rumour has it he broke his wrist punching the telly seeing his beloved Gunners go down to West Brom.
The early kickoff this week was at Eastlands as Manchester City played host to Chelsea. Chelsea starting off the season on fire with 21 goals 1 conceded all be it against the most likely bottom 5 teams so there was always going to be a test against Chelsea, Manchester City were the only team to do the double over Chelsea last season with the corresponding fixture finishing 2-1 to City. The game was a tight battle with Citys 3 defensive midfielders blocking up the space and blokes like Essien, Malouda werent getting the shooting space they needed. There weren’t many chances in the first half with the only one going to Alex who hit the post from point blank range. The second half started a lot like the first was but coming to the hour mark City hit Chelsea on counterattack, Ramires losing possession and all his teammates were forward for a corner Toure a short pass to Tevez who from half way run at the defenders and shot on past Petr Cech from on the edge of the box to go 1-0 up. After that City had the better of the play and to the delight of the City crowd Drogba was subbed off for one of Citys old boys Sturridge.
Sunderland travelled to Anfield with week to take on Liverpool who have had a shocking start to the season. Many predicted the reds to get back on track but I did always see this one turning into a draw. Liverpool opened the scoring in 5th minute which will go down as the most controversial goal of the season (and funny that same goal with the beachball occurred in the corresponding fixture last year with Sunderland won 1-0) Sunderland had earned themself a free kick due to an offside, the Sunderland defender then softly kicked it back as it saying the goalkeeper take it, Torres was first to pounce take the ball and pass it to Kuyt who put it into an open net. Bent again got on the scoring sheet scoring twice 1 from the spot, before Gerrard did what Gerrard loves doing and rescuing a point for the reds with a header just after the hour mark.
Fulham hosting Everton this week, with the Toffees rooted to the bottom of the table and yet to win. Is Moyes time up? Has been a great manager for years but its not working this season. In all the game was pretty entertaining with Schwarzers pulling off some good saves, game finished 0-0. Birmingham also played host to Wigan and will be very disappointed not to come away with all the points game also finishing 0-0.
Blackpool played host to Blackburn which to be honest was a pretty crap game until the last few minutes. Charlie Adam Blackpool captain headed on the best goals you will see too bad was into his own net and past his GK after 20 min, as it looked like Blackburn were going to hold on and then Iain Hollaway making an inspired sub bring on Matt Phillips and the midfield repaid the faith scoring with basically his first touch to what likely was give Blackpool a draw. But enter Brett Emerton who has had his injury worries of late come on for a sub at half time and scored the winning in the 3rd minute of injury time to break the hearts of the Seasiders.
Arsenal then hosted West Brom at the Emirates and would have been hoping for a win and possibly some goals to make up the difference on Chelsea who had already lost earlier in the night. And it wasnt to be with Alumnia conceding a penalty but making up for it and saving it. 0-0 at half time with Arsenal hardly convincing. Roll on the second half and I definitely didnt see it coming back the Baggies went bang bang to be up 2-0 early in the 2nd half, the first goal was good wide play for West Brom with Odemwingie scoring his 3rd for the campaign then Jara shooting a pretty tame short and Almunia only for the keeper to let the ball in at his near post. (Thinking now was the time the injury happened to JoshyC). 20 minutes later West Brom had gone 3-0 with a goal to Jerome Thomas and no way back for Arsenal. Nasri managed to get 2 back for the gunners but it was too little too late.
The Sunday night games started off with Bolton playing host to Manchester United who would have been in the same boat as Arsenal seeing as the top 2 clubs got beat. Wasnt a good start for United as Bolton won a corner in the first 5 minutes Martin Petrov whipped in the corner for Zat Knight to head home. Questions got to be asked why Evra wasnt on the post to stop the ball going in. 15 minutes later some solo brilliance from Nani, taking the ball from half way running and the defenders and smashing it put Jaaskelainen. Martin petrov then went from provider to scorer with a deflected shot to then put Bolton 2-1 up. Fergie swang Michael Owen on as a sub with some 20 minutes to do and from a Nani freekick and glancing header went it to make it 2-2 and a point saved for United.
By this time I needed some sleep to get up from work Monday but Newcastle lead by 1 at half time only to lose 2-1 Nolan from the spot and Jones also getting on the score sheet for Stoke. Aston Villa scored a 2-1 away to Wolves Downing and Heskey scoring.

Gameweek 7 Previews
None bigger than the heavyweight clash between Tooserious1 and TossersRus. The first derby of the 2009/10 season. The amount of quality in the 1s side should be too much for the Tossers and can see a 5-0 whitewash (hope Im bloody wrong though). The TooSeriousToo mob travel to Flaming Buddhists where I think home ground advantage will be enough thinking the final score will be 3-2. The TooseriousTree mob host the Wenches, who are on the road against a Tooserious team 3 weeks in a row. The travel factor is definitely catching up with them and can see the "Trees" taking this one home 3-2.

Premier League Previews for this week
Birmingham vs. Everton
Birmingham conceded 1 goal at home this year while Everton have had troubles finding the back of the net on the road. Birmingham 1-0
Stoke City vs. Blackburn
For Stoke to survive relegation, these are games where they need to be taking 3 points but wont be easy against Blackburn. 1-1 draw
Sunderland vs. Manchester United
Sunderland have a good record against the top clubs at home and United is no difference, United coming back from a tough trip in Spain, Sunderland have good scoring power in Darren Bent and Uniteds defence is shaky at best. Sunderland 2-1
Tottenham vs. Villa
Spurs will be high on after putting 4 past Twente and think that will be enough to get over Villa. Spurs 3-1 or 2-1
West Brom vs. Bolton
Baggies have been in fine form this season but Bolton will be buoyant about getting a point off United. Think home ground advantage might be enough for West Brom here. 2-1
West Ham vs. Fulham
Another London derby for West ham here and think they will have a lot of confidence knocking off spurs last week. Fulham are a good team so the Hammers wont have all their own way a draw the most likely outcome. 1-1 draw
Manchester City vs. Newcastle
City currently share the best defensive record along with Chelsea and Newcastle arent a prolific scoring team except for that one game against Villa. City should win comfortably. Man City 2-0
Liverpool vs. Blackpool
There will be goals in this game and dont think Liverpool will have it their own way. Tough trip to Holland Friday morning could see them flat for this game but think they will do enough to get 3 points and get away from relegation zone. Liverpool 3-2
Chelsea vs. Arsenal
Chelsea will smash Arsenal here. Chelsea 2 losses in a row before a comfortable midweek win. Arsenal conceded 3 at home to West Brom how are they going to contain Chelseas fwd 3. Chelsea 3-0
Key players to miss this week
Fabregas - out for 2 weeks
Rooney - out for 3 weeks
Lampard - Unlikely
Balotelli - to miss another 2 months
Giggs - likely to miss at least 3 weeks
