Reading from afl site conditions of Essendon top up players for this season only.
It seems they need to have been on an AFL list in last two seasons.

As I play a few fantasy games for a number of years I had a look through the lists to come up with list of players I could find on AFL lists in 2014 and 2015 that no longer with an AFL club.

Amazing how much turnover there is on AFL lists when you find over 200 players no longer on 18 clubs lists.
I am expecting players like Sam Dwyer , Jarryd Cachia, Johnathon Simpkin, Josh Glenn. Mitch Golby, Tony Armstrong, Spencer White, Mark Austin, Scott McMahon, Mark Jamar and Essendon VFL listed player to be main candidates likely to be available.

Supercoach info will be revealed more on Monday but so far read this tonight.

    ESSENDON TOP-UPS

So far, the Bombers have announced Ryan Crowley and James Kelly and the likes of Jonathan Simpkin, Matt Dea and James Polkinghorne aren’t far away. Crowley’s return hurts the likes of SuperCoach favourites Ablett, Mitchell and Harvey. On a positive note, he should free Craig Bird from a possible tagging role, which is very good news. Kelly would be an interesting option given he could possibly see significant time in the midfield. However, he averaged 76 last year with Geelong and would not be any cheaper. Finally, if the Bombers do sign VFL best and fairest winner James Polkinghorne he would likely come at a rookie price after being delisted by Brisbane in 2014.

Actually, it was a surprise Freo didn't pick him up last year as a rookie. Did well playing WAFL for their team at that level (Peel Thunder).

Not cheap enough to interest me. Not sure I take any of Essendon top up players in Supercoach.
