So it's seems the accepted stategy is to have 4-5 trades left for finals, using these to sideways trade out premiums that are affected by the bye...

I'm strongly considering using those 4-5 trades to trade in a premium at d8 and f8 respectively and use mpp to cover the players missing due to the bye.

As most teams are also using the Petrie - Tippett/ lobbe combo this would provide additional cover accross every line.

The main objection to this people would say is injuries. The way I see it most have 4-5 north, Geelong, Carlton, ess players anyway, using up those trades sideways. Mpp at least allows for an injury on a line plus a bye.

    Thoughts?

There seems to be two strategies for finals. One is to hold onto trades, the other to strengthen benches now.
Advantage of Strategy 1 is to deliver an unexpected blow to your opponent. Advantage of Strategy 2 is to make best use of low prices, BEs, etc, as well as a better guarantee of finals position.

With either strategy, you avoid any players from those 4 teams.

Basically it comes down to how much cash you have.
