Just saw this and thought it could become a issue for all those with the Collingwood premiums!!

COLLINGWOOD may roster games off for its star players this season to help combat the physically taxing new sub rule.

In a move mirroring cricket's one-day rotation policy, the premier may rest prime movers such as Dane Swan. The strategy also could affect leading Brownlow Medal fancies.

Pies midfield coach Mark Neeld said the increased demands of the new bench rules would reduce players' ability to play a full season.

Neeld said it was crucial to develop midfield depth to cover their star players' extra breaks.

"As the season goes we will find that more teams need to use more players through there

Clubs could target its game against the Gold Coast Suns to rest its prized players, with the Pies slated to tackle the Suns in Round 18 in Queensland.

The rostered games off would likely come under the guise of general soreness.
