I'm in the same boat and without looking at any numbers yet hibbered comes to mind. Decent average and same bye.

Burgoyne is ranked 2 in defenders, so that trade looks ok, although he's a R9 bye and Hanley is R10. Getting close to byes coming up, so depends a lot on your structure I guess. I also need to trade him out but need someone with same R10 bye. Thinking either of Hibberd,Hooker, Frawley or Dempster.

Would help a bit with some insight into your other defs. :) Assuming you are looking at a player with a history of minimum 20 games per season (so you don't have to trade him out again later due to injury or suspension and 21 or 22 games is obviously preferred) and those who have started 2014 well (which eliminates Walker who has gone to hell in a hand basket), to my mind your options include: Name/2013games/2013 total points/2013 average McVeigh/22/23335/106 Bartel/21/2229/106 Mitchell/21/2188/104 Hibberd/22/2110/96 Simpson/22/2093/95 You probably have some or all of these guys already. :) And probably Swallow and Suckling. :-D Jaensch is on fire and is an option but the question is can he keep it up? Hooker is another speculative option with similar concerns. Simpson or Hibberd if I had to choose: D5 or D6 keepers, maybe even higher. Both dependable, consistent scorers. Won't go huge but will be there all season scoring for you IMHO. My 2 cents, YMMV

Have not been able to find any definitive statement on how long Hanley is out for. Until then................

Agree Terry, one to two weeks = probably hold. Much more than that and a trade might be warranted.

I read 4 weeks with a hamstring. Not sure if that was speculative out not however.

From the Lions website this morning..... Pearce Hanley also underwent scans on his hamstring yesterday morning.

Results revealed the midfielder has a grade one hamstring tear and is expected to miss approximately 2 weeks.

If you want to offload Hanley, Hibberd is a safe bet. Assuming you have Smitch and Swallow already, Hibberd is a very safe bet. I predicted him to break out last year and he did, averaging 90-100 (too lazy to find stats, but I know that's the ballpark), and he will score around that every week. Doesn't often go too far past 100, but the worst you'll get is 80-odd. Has had a bit of hamstring history, but You're other options are in the same boat. My two cents
