Hawks on hold: An ode to Queensland

And so it comes to this...Friday night footy at its finest, beaming all around Australia, and obviously being held up, because it arrives in Mackay at 11:20pm. I don't begrudge our communications minister for taking it off 7Mate, rather, I thank him. For now I am forced into a void of forgotten friendship. No Facebook shall I touch, nor radio shall I hear. No Supercoach scores will I seek, for they give away what I hold so dear. What is a contest when you know the final score? It's simply a re-run you haven't seen before. There's no drama or tension, no excitement or fright. And that's why I won't be talking to anybody, until roughly 2am, tonight.
