This thread didn’t really gather any steam did it! Not sure where to put this but two ruckmen in each of my ORFF teams have been traded to Port Adelaide today. Both teams have Esava Ratugolea. ORFFA’s Gariwerd Cockatoos have Jordon Sweet Heard Island Shags have Ivan Soldo. All 3 got traded to Port today!
Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Spare a thought for those that have Lycett, he'll be relligated to the seconds and then he'll retired.
Yep, Lycett is a goner! I’m not sure if it’s good or bad either, but they’ll hopefully play 2 of the 3 most weeks
Sorry for butting in.....but please spare a thought for my mob in ORFFU.........where I have Port's Hayes and Visentini as rucks, where Sweet and Soldo will take over, but I also have Ladhams, thinking I'd be OK with Hickey retiring, but Grundy coming to the Swans, has put the kybosh on that......not looking forward to 2024 at all...
Never apologise for that. Great discussions to be had. Looks like you had rucks at the teams most needing decent rucks haha
Should have mentioned I have Finlayson (R/F) too, so all I need is for him to lose R status and it's game over b4 the season has even started...
I’m at a crossroad with my list. I mean the writing was on the wall mid last season, but I doubled-down! In the inaugural draft in 2016, I drafted a 24 year old Nat Fyfe with my first pick and my aim was to win a premiership before he retired, and I’ve thrown everything at it. But I’m sure I missed my chance now he’s in the twilight of his career and most of my list is getting very old. Six of my players from last season have retired during the off-season. Another one of my oldies has a LTI and will likely miss this whole upcoming season. Fyfe isn’t good enough to carry a team anymore. It’s been several years since he could. I had a last-ditch effort last season, sticking fat with my initial plan, when I traded all my future draft picks for Jack Steele to give me another premium mid that could’ve given me the best chance to get that elusive premiership before it became too late. I’ve got a few good youngsters, but no draft picks. Do I stick to my original plan to keep pushing for a flag whilst Fyfe is life? Or do I cut my losses and bottom-out now and reload aiming for a flag in several years from now. I don’t think my list is good enough to do anything in between… my players aged around 25-28 aren’t really good enough to play on a good team into their 30s. I had my chances over the last few years, but I think I’ve missed that opportunity now. We made the finals four years straight, in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Our highest ever weekly score was in 2020, and our best season for points-for was in 2021. We got through to the Prelim Final that 2021 season, and only lost the game by 28 points to the eventual premiers. My long term plan almost worked, but it didn’t and I think that’s my last chance with this list. Fyfe is 32 years old now. What to do… The joys of fantasy footy keeper leagues!
