Thinking about bringing in a defender this week as it's my biggest need. I've already got most of the premiums e.g. delids, goddard, suckling and I was thinking I may bring in another quality defender to complement lake, clarke and Bugg.

Who would you take Hanley or Heppell?

I like Hanley as a POD, and he's relatively cheap given he will probably average around 90 this year and very few have him.

I have had both from start and reckon its a toss of coin. Due to price id say Hanley, but bloody hell Heppell is star..

I like Hanley as an up & comer,
but Heppell has a rare appeal, he's resilient, like sidey & kade simpson,
dependable players who always pull up ok & never miss a match.
Few players have that unbreakable quality & as much as I admire hanley,
think Heppell not missing a single game since his debut has to weigh in in his favour.

yer heppel doesnt seem to work as hard as hanly for his points
ill be looking for a replacement for bock which hurts as i had him benched him from the start hoping for a nice pod sigh

i havent looked into it but has heppels score risen slightly since hibbard has been out ?

This was the Bombers first game without Hibbert so think your reading too much into that.

@moblets
yer i know its only a small sample size
but if you count 3 and 3/4 quarters vs pies and this game , hes upped his dt to over 100 for the first time twice and taken the most marks hes had for the year 2 games in a row.

those extra four or 8 marks per game might be due to hibbard not being there.

it might be an extra 15 or 20 sc per week in the end . not much but might count for something.

tho on a personal note i hope when hibbard comes back they both get 30 possis per week at 110% efficiency ;-)

Seems like it's overwhelmingly Heppell - Hanley is just handy as a POD, but Heppell will most likely average more.

Heppell. If not for all the mentioned reasons...especially:

Hanley is a great POD but unfortunately when Brisbane get thumped (will happen often) he has been scoring 50-70

Heppell won't have that problem (judging on the first 7 rounds)

Gotta go Heppell!

I'd have heppell. i've got hanley and he hasn't done much, i was banking on young player improving this year POD. His avg for last year was 83. So not much imporvement as yet. If you are looking for POD then players currently up there include H.Taylor, Scott Thompson, T Chaplin, M Johnson, Firrito?

I'd look at the North guys? easy draw this year?

Heppell seems to get a heap of possessions but they don't always translate into SC points. 34 possessions against Brisbane but only 87 SC points.
