Apologies if I’ve missed a thread on this already but does anyone (particularly Doggies PPL) have any credible news on Higgins? (or Hall for that matter?). Higgins has missed two now with what was originally toted as post match “soreness”. Now this week I’ve heard conflicting reports saying he’s expecting too be back in, or he’s at least a week off still..so wondering if anyone has had the benefit of the inside word? If he’s back this week I’d prefer to stay with him (for a trades sake if nothing else) but if the injury niggle is back I think Higgins needs to become PAV asap..

Im sick of him because if it is a niggle it means it will probably reoccur throughout season in typical higgins fashion. Im trading him as i see him only playing 15-17 games. Pav chap upgrade!

I would be worried that something like this would be reoccurring. He may come back for a few matches, then miss more throughout the season and give you headaches.

The fact his body is breaking down this early into the season is not a good sign.

I would like to see him for a game back before trading him...

But the question is.... Just how far away is that game? lol

WLF - He will break down all year? Or are you secretly hoping he breaks down all year seeing you got rid of him? hahah

im hanging onto him for now, i have coverage in the fwd line, and more pressing issues in other area's. in that time im hoping he gets back and plays well, and hopefully puts this injury behind him. but if he breaks down again hes gone. may miss a few gravy trains but i selected him as a keeper this year and dont want to second guess my orignal selections too much.
im waiting for the lti or complete fail this year prospect

Geez that's rough for his owners.

Injuries have taken a bigger toll on popular players than ever I reckon.

Many teams could've easily had Selwood, Grimes, Rioli, Higgins, Stevie J, Curnow from the start, which would've killed you.

Chuck Montags' suspension + all Saints lowered form and many standard teams would be well down on usual output.

Can't believe Rioli may miss when he 'almost' got up for last week. Would love a tiny bit of luck to go my way.

Got to feel good about my trades somehow :D

But seriously the guy has extensive history with soft tissue around groin.

Only way through is play a few games rest, play a few, rest.

That's pretty rough FSB - SC is a cruel mistress.

@DC I'm the reverse. I have them in DT and its killing me, while my SC is fairing a little better.

I really dont know what to do with him now. I dont really want to waste another trade or I will be finding it hard to fully upgrade

Hmm..the conundrum..I’m hoping they have just been extremely cautious with his sourness (given its a long season and they had to travel last week) and he ‘could’ have played.. guess we’ll know when the lists are out tomorrow night..
    Trading Plan:
    Higgins – up or down?
Down = Stanley or Smith or UP = Pav, Chappie...
I think I’ll do R8 Matera – Stanley (assuming named this week), Grimes – Shaw
Then R9 - Higgins (if still unfit) – Smith (pending form this week), Libba/Conca – Selwood.
Giving Higgins one more week to prove his fitness before I pull the trigger
