Just going to start this discussion rolling, I'll get around to opening threads for the board members later. What are we going to do about hawks2008? (4 weeks with an unentered team) Do we ask him to leave, get an assistant coach or what? I think we need a rule for inactive teams during the year, because we didn't have anything concrete this year.
I think the easiest solution for an inactive team / no team selected, is to default to the previous weeks team, seeing as stats are kept the board could even enter the best 15 to ensure injuries or omissions are covered. This should at least guarantee some level of competition in each match. It should also sort out tanking, although this is a whole other matter. We would then need to decide how many weeks of inactivity before we 'sell' the licence, I would think 4 is sufficient, as it's plenty of time to contact the commissioner/board to make some sort of assistant coach arrangement. Just as an aside, I think we should all add our email addresses & contact details (if agreed) to the tsorffu gmail account so we have a way of contacting those that for whatever reason become inactive.
Look for a new coach. Inactivity kills enthusiasm. Active contributing participants makes for a greater experience (fun) If Hawks is keen and active I'm sure we would have heard from him by now.

I'm all for including a database of contact details, with the option to be ORFFU spammed or not depending on how you feel. For example, I don't mind making my email and phone number known to all, and I don't mind group emails to organise events or what-not. Some people may not agree with this, so we'd give them the option of only being contacted in an 'FU emergency. As for Hawks and Manangatan. We really need to get this sorted prior to trading, otherwise there's 26 untouchable players, and a lost opportunity for some real involvement for Hawks or any new coach. I'll see if Walesy can pull Hawks' details and help us make contact.
+2 dd. he's toast. get someone keen in. moving forward the 4 week inactivity window sounds good. Scoring during those 4 week is a separate matter for discussion imho
JPK raises a good point with trading and drafting. The new coach could clean house. We could all miss out on some bargains. Think we should get this sorted ASAP.
I don't think hawks is around anywhere, and hasn't been for a while. There are 4 other people who are currently not around (haven't voted in POOYA), so we need to get them to poke their head in here too.
Agree with the points raised about needing a new coach for Manangatang. We haven't seen him post anywhere saying he's still around like a couple of the coaches have recently. Agree with the 4 week inactivity window but after what happened this year maybe that's being a bit generous and it should be something like 2 weeks. That's probably another discussion altogether.
Yep, Hawkers needs to go, Manangatang needs a new coach. Let's get it done so that the new coach can trade.
Nice work Tomster. Think it's probably worked out for the best that we're looking for a new coach now. As you mentioned in the post, we're looking for active TSers and there's no better time to find an active member than now since the regular SC season is over.
