    Hi guys,
This is the team I've come up with after much thought. I still have many concerns about how risky some options are though. $64,300 in the bank after all this:

    BACKLINE
    1. Goddard, B
    $584,7000

    2. Scotland, H
    $572,9000

    3. Deledio, B
    $568,7000

    4. Enright, C
    $522,6000

    5. Smedts, B
    $113,2000

    6. Bugg, T
    $113,2000

    7. Brown, L
    $106,6000

    23. Darley, S
    $113,2000

    24. Wilkes, B
    $106,6000

    MIDFIELD

    8. Ablett, G CAPTAIN
    $689,0000

    9. Priddis, M
    $618,5000

    10. Selwood, J
    $604,6000

    11. Barlow, M
    $453,6000

    12. Pfeiffer, D
    $126,7000

    13. Reid, S
    $113,2000

    25. McDonald, J
    $106,6000

    26. Baguley, M
    $94,7000

    RUCKS

    14. Mumford, S VICE CAPTAIN
    $610,3000

    15. Leuenberger, M
    $554,2000

    27. Giles, J
    $126,7000

    28. Stephensen, O
    $106,6000

    FOWARDLINE

    16. Franklin, L
    $600,6000

    17. Martin, D
    $536,2000

    18. Zaharakis, D
    $494,1000

    19. Robinson, M
    $489,7000

    20. Christensen, A
    $356,8000

    21. Zorko, D
    $113,2000

    22. Treloar, A
    $113,2000

    29. Hampton, C
    $113,2000

    30. Walsh, T
    $113,20

    These are my main concerns:
    1) Old McDonald, too old? Perhaps not best cash cow option?
    2) Too many Midpricers hoping to make the jump: Christensen, Barlow, Zaharakis
    3) Too much money in the rucks?

What are your thoughts guys? I'd really appriciate the help.
    Thanks alot.

Nolan - i reckon its a good team that many of us have come up with before actually seeing much footy played. Now both the round 1 weekends are over theres a few doubts over your team...which i imagine you might agree with. eg: Bugg and LBrown in defence no goers. Mids Barlow Pfeiffer and Baguley nogoers yet or just not good enough. Leuenberger looked pretty average. For: aint seen zorko, walsh hardly got the ball, treloar didnt play, hapton a maybe but will be denied lots of ball in GWS forwardline; christensen is flashy but not so reliable IMO.
Plus maybe try to line up your forum teams in simple sets of For, Mids, etc, we all know their prices. Good luck, its still early days :)

Gary - thanks for the advice
Bugg was a recent inclusion, as with Baguley, for DPP flexibility.
I know Christensen is a risk, but could make the jump.
Also, I think you are reading into the NAB cup too much, its hard to base an entire season from half a game.

Walsh scored -1 in a full game, unless you have the luck of the Irish I would avoid him for now.

Well, I am indeed as Irish as they come. I'll watch him in round 2

yeah i guess so - sometimes you can tell if a guy wont even get a place in the top 25 players of a club eg: baguley, pfeiffer, smedts (i reckon).

FWIW I like the team but agree with Gary re Barlow.
And I still feel sorry for Barlow and hope he proves Gary and I wrong.
I'd also be watching Zaharakis. I have him in the mix but am concerned that there may be some ongoing injury worries.
Maybe an Essendon supporter can set us straight on him.

Sorry, I also can't see how Robinson can improve into premium status.

I'm not going to comment on players, as there's still way too much footy between now and round 1 - but...

I'm also looking to go a 7 rookie strategy. From past years, you'd be told that you're crazy- but with GWS and just the shear volume of knowledge these days (and those tasty mature aged rookies) - the talent is there.

Hit the right 7 (+8), and miss any premiums that drop 20 points, and you'll be well in the hunt.

The team's solid, just a few rookie choices look a bit off. I think that Mitch Robinson is overpriced too, there are better options for a similiar price.

Good luck for the season though mate.

PS: Take a look at Ahmed Saad, around 120k in the Forward line and plays for the Saints, he looked good in the NAB Cup and is a mature age recruit, if he gets game time could be a gem rookie mate.
