Selwood is the popular selection. I will be going with Boyd.

I am trying to make this very decision too! Started with Selwood but then went to Boyd, then back to Selwood, then back to Boyd (repeat several more times).

My other suggestion is Watson... underpriced big time... should score 100-120 every week! will finish top 5 in brownlow this year!

That's a really tough one. I have Selwood at the moment and not Boyd, but only because I already have Griffen and I don't want 2 doggies in the midfield. Otherwise, I really can't split them.

24 y/o Selwood over 30 y/o Boyd,
It's a no brainer for me,
Boyd's left his prime while Selwood's just coming into his.
A hard few matches will see Boyd rested while Selwood recovers with ease.

ahhh... no. 1. Boyd's numbers last year were the best of his career and 2. Fitness permitting he will play all 22 games this year

Boyd v Selwood is not a no brainer... Boyd being 30 this year doesnt change anything!

He may be 30, but hasn't had 5 seasons back-to-back of deep finals appearances. Don't underestimate the need for Selwood to be rested too as the Cats think about fitness levels deep into September.

Personally I'm going with Boyd due to his age and subsequent role at the Doggies. I don't see any other Dogs taking points from him.

I doubt Boyd will be rested. He needs to play. He insists on playing. He cracked the sads when he got left out of a practice match this year for a knock to the leg or something like that. A practice match; what an angry man. That said, I think Selwood is a good chance to improve his average this year but may end up not playing as many games as Boyd who is the more consistent of the two when it comes to amount of games played in a season.

The only worry I have with Boyd is that I think Griffen is going to explode into an elite level player and may overtake Boyd and take some of his points. Regardless, you can count on Boyd to rack up 30 plus disposals every game which will get him big points even if his disposal quality might let him down a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if he finishes the year as the player with the most possessions again.

I like Boyd as a POD, but I think the danger of points being stolen won't come from Griffen, but from Cross going back to being a ball magnet rather than the tagging jobs Rocket was having him perform last year. What are the thoughts from the Dogs fans here?

If you were going for value, then you'd have to go Selwood, because I think Boyd is fully priced, whereas Selwood had that well documented Round 1 KO and is in the first year of captaincy.

True Tango, that round 1 KO score was factored into selwood's averages on which his price is based, making him 5% underpriced.
Also, Selwood is the 1 & only premium not forecast to fall in price by round 8, according to price projections.
