    James Strauss Leg Break
Ouch! This has got to be one of the
worst leg breaks I've seen for a while.
Seen a few from the EPL, Jaymie Graham
etc but this is bad, don't think it's as
bad as Nathan Browns though, but hey, a
leg break is a leg break and it's
    always bad
    .

    Some Comments About It
    Geez, just saw James Strauss’
injury. Looked like a broken leg,
    sickening video. Brings back the
memories of Nate Brown when he
did his leg… Best of luck to
    Straussy in his recovery.
    Get well soon young fella.

    Oh man!!! That looked like
his leg snapped off! That is
one of the most shocking injuries
I’ve seen in AFL footy. Let’s
hope he can make a solid recovery.

    That is officially the worst
injury I’ve ever seen!! Poor guy!
Never knew a leg could bend/snap
like that!!!! I wish him all the
best! Don’t think he will be back
    till 2011

    Geez thats gotta hurt...

    I'm in pain just from
    watching this!

How long do you guys think
he'll be on the sidelines for?
    Good luck to Straussy!

My D7 for this round. My score went like his leg.

Really hope he recovers because he looked a great young prospect, and he'd already been through the injury ringer.

TBH in a brutal objective opinion I reckon almost career over for the kid.

It just seems of innocuous though- normally with this kind of break, there's an errant leg or something which forces the leg to go- but here, it looked like a fairly normal jump and spoil attempt- just with tragic results.

(That said, there may have been something- I didn't really watch it many times!)

Was watching the game live on tv and had the benefit/misfortune of the many replays after the injury.

To me, it looked far worse than Barlow's break last season - and by comparing it to Barlow's injury you can actually view a similar time frame for recovery.

Barlow broke his leg mid-season last year and wasn't really right to play till mid-season this year - so with Strauss suffering this injury late in the season, he probably won't be anywhere near ready till late next season.

Conclusion - I honestly don't think we'll see him playing next season at all, and he may never recover enough to play again - this truly could be a career ending injury.

Yup was a brutal one. Broken legs are hard to get over in football at any level. Best he can hope for is 1 or 2 magoo games in late 2012 and a solid 2013 pre season if the Dees hold faith.

Dunno if you guys got this one out east, but this is one that happened in the WAFL earlier this year.

This one is a stomach churner.

I didn't even need to view that video to know it was upchuck material. Saw it once and that will be all.

Yeah that Jaymie Graham one was probably the worse one I've seen (Thats Graham right?) Had him mentioned in the start of this.

Back to Strauss, hopefully he comes back a good player and not have his career ruined like N Brown did, was never the same player since, having said that Chris Newman recovere very well, yet I haven't seen the footage of his.

    Newman's I think was more like Barlow's.

This one, all depends on the rehab. Would think Melbourne would at least rehab him due to their AFLPA obligations.

Worst case scenario would be that he does an Egan/Croad.
