Welcome back to the League v League competition and my goodness werent there some upsets last weekend. Some late runs from the lower ranked leagues are not unexpected given players could have left their trading salvos to right to the very end.

Three of the top 4 are out, and only the Donors remain from the ranks of the top 20s.

First Prelim:
TS NBA Crew v TS Superleague
AKA The Salary Cap Challenge!

On paper this looks like a fairly easy win to the NBA Crew.  They have done the hard yards beating two strong leagues in their first two battles, and this one should be like swatting flies.   An interesting aside is the clear drop off of scores from one game to another.   Obviously most players copped the putrid Petrie-Pavlich double.   The NBA Crew will need to be on their game, but you would suggest it would take $$$ of Superleague-esque proportions (or maybe just NRL) to see them miss a GF position.

So, again, on paper, you would have to say that the final representative of the top 20 is about to bow out in the Prelim.   Its not entirely unexpected if the league members have spent their trades in an oft-futile attempt at personal overall glory.   But then again, with the Carlton bye and injuries galore, it will be interesting to see which league has the overall class to rise above.    Im sure the fact that teams were not participating last week in league finals might have made a difference.

But then again, Im a member of the Too Serious Donors (playing Walesy this week for the right to defend the sites honour in the GF against the marauding donating pack) and my report is as biased as anything published in the daily newspapers.
