Any thoughts on who, if anyone, is best placed to step up in the middle for the Doggies not that Libba is out for the year? Personally, I'd like it isf one of Dahlhaus or Hrovat started spending a lot more time in the guts given their forward status, but Mc Crae showed promise last year, is this Wallace's opportunity to step up? Biggs of Jong as a premium priced rookie/mid pricer? Options would appear to abound. Thoughts, comments? Cheers, Bill
Crameri is slated to spend more time in the midfield this year, depending on ASADA. Wallis will get a crack. I just don't think his disposal is up to it and he will be relegated to run-with role again. Jong also will get a shot. Brett Goodes was kept on the rookie list for depth in case this sort of calamity befell us. Clay Smith isn't far from returning, has been pushing coaching group for an early return (did his knee in about July last year) all summer. I think Wallis and Jong will be in the mix early, but when Clay returns he will settle into the spot that used to be Libbas in our 22.
Thank you for the detailed insight Jason, much appreciated. Interesting observation re Clay Smith. I'm liking Macrae to get a significant proportion of Libba's clearance SC points myself.

I expect him to slightly decrease his SC output this year as a result.
