2012 List Analysis:
Adelaide has lot of players in the upper-mid area compared to the rest of the competition and need to progress their development in order to progress up the ladder. The thing is, most people believe they will do just that, with players such as Sloane and Dangerfield consistently at the tip of the tongue for any players wishing to bring mid-price selections into their Supercoach team.
Jacobs is clearly a critical player in the Adelaide structure. Without him, Tippett or Jenkins needs to take the ruck, and there would be a huge shuffle up forward. The key for Sauce is to stay fit and healthy and churn out the 116 Supercoach points (which the Adelaide ruck division averaged in 2011) on his own. Jacobs therefore is an intelligent midprice selection.
On the whole Adelaides list ranks a score of 36, with 22 depth players. This places them 13th in quality of best 22, but equal 5th in terms of depth. Thus once again, the key for Adelaide is to develop what is already there, and make it better quality. If the quality doesnt rise, nor will Adelaide.

2011 Supercoach Statistics:
PPG Average: 1594 (Ranked 14)
DEF Average: 566 (7) - 35%
MID Average: 603 (9) - 38%
FWD Average: 310 (13) - 19%
RUC Average: 116 (12) - 7%
Adelaide were a middling bunch last year, but the clear view from their SuperCoach statistics is that the ball spent too long in their defence. Is Sanderson happy with such tactics in 2012, or will he look for a more forward-press style approach? Time will tell. The Crows midfield is one that ranked average in 2011, and with good young talent, appears to be set for an above average result in 2011. This could mean more points for Crow midfielders and forwards this year, and less for defenders. As such Johncock, though ranked as a Premium Defender, may not be the wisest selection in 2012.
2012 Fixture Analysis:
Fixture Analysis has been completed on 2011 Finishing Position (GWS is ranked 18)
Highlights:
- Crows look solid at the very start and end of the season.
- They have a difficult run of matches in the run up to initial trades, but it gets better after the bye.
- Hence the advice is either to start with a Crows player as a keeper, or save the upgrade until after their bye.

Games have been grouped as the average finishing position of their opponents, sorted in a 5 match collection, apart from the first and last 4 games, which are listed to see which teams can really start and end the year with a bang. Start represents the round number to begin the analysis, and stop means the round number to end. If a team played GWS and Gold Coast, then their ranking for 2 games would be 17.5 rounded to 18. If a team played Collingwood, Geelong, Carlton, Hawthorn and WCE in a run of 5 games, the ranking for these would be 3 (the average finishing position of last years top 5). Anything close to 18 is good. Anything close to 3 (or even 1 or 2 in the first 4 or last 4 rounds) is bad.
Purple: Less than 5 games to assess
Yellow: Key trading period
Green: Easy run of matches
Red: Difficult run of matches
Orange: Medium difficulty run of matches
Adelaides Top 5 Players for your Supercoach Team:
1 - Jason Porplyzia (FWD) - Looks every bit the player he was before the injury. Should be a very successful cow.
2 - Sam Kerridge (FWD-MID) - Has dual position capability, and looks set to start in the Crows 22. Highly rated youngster.
3 - Scott Thompson (MID) - Unfairly criticised as just a DreamTeam player. He has consistently headed the Crows SuperCoach scoring and Brownlow Medal polling, and is set to do it again in 2012. A brilliant DreamTeam selection.
4 - Patrick Dangerfield (FWD-MID) - Is the coming star. Will it be this year, next year, or will he forever tease? Time will tell.
5 - Rory Sloane (MID) - I think hes in danger of being overhyped, but does look a strong, bullish talent to drive the Crows midfield into 2012. I"m not convinced he will be premium or elite SC. Maybe premium. (Maybe I should have gone the BIG SAUCE Jacobs)
