Mature Age Recruits I was thinking about some mature age recruits, as I'm watching the Fremantle vs. Melbourne match with Barlow's return. I was wondering if West Coast & Fremantle get there own reserves teams in the WAFL whether we will se more mature age recruits from the West, or less. Here are some over the past few years. Greg Broughton Fremantle Dockers -- Half Back/Midfield Played his first season in '09 and has been important to them across the Half Back line and has moved into the Midfield occasionally this year. Michael Barlow Fremantle Dockers -- Midfield Played the first 13 or 14 games lat year before breaking his leg vs. Port Adelaide. Topped 30 touches reguarly. Comeback game today, 13 first quarter disposals. Tendai Mzungu Fremantle Dockers -- Midfield/Forward Was recruited this year and is playing his 6th game today. Has been good and his highlight game was vs. St Kilda when he racked up 25 touches. Peter Faulks Fremantle Dockers -- Key Defender Likely to see out the year once again in the WAFL, was recruited at the same time as Mzungu. Andrew Strijk West Coast Eagles -- Wing/Forward Came to West Coast last year and played a few games mainly as a Half Forward. Edward Curnow Carlton Blues -- Midfield Recruited from the VFL this year after winning Box Hill's Best'n'Fairest. 21 years of age, started 2011 brilliantly and has just returned from a shoulder. Who are some players that I've missed? Do you think Freo/West Coast and co. will continue to bring in more this year? Who are the best mature age recruits? Any close watchers of the WAFL/VFL or anywhere for that matyer and Is there any players who you think could be picked as mature age recruits? Some other's that I missed above would be James Podsiadly & Ian Callinan
Add to that the 2 mature recruits picked up from Norwood in the SANFL, Nick Duigan & Paul Puopolo have both started their careers well. Could possibly be a couple more from SANFL snapped up in this years draft. I think most clubs are now prepared to look at mature-age recruits now.
Lower was on the Power list for a few years but wasn't up to standard back then - when Port delisted him, he worked hard on his game back at Norwood for a couple of years and was rewarded for all his hard work by being picked up by Freo. He definitely is a much better player now than he was while at Port.
Cheers @spudgun Matt Suckling? Not the Hawks player.....right? It'd be nice if he was a bit like M.Suckling from Hawks....So then Saints could pick him up

Amen Brother - Thumbs up on your letter to St Nick. And I miss Lenny too. sniff. Going on Curnows form, Rossy needs to keep an eye on Adelaides 3rd round draft picks that can't get a game in the Glenelg 2's. Real eye for talent, that Neil Craig.
