So its time for a new article with a new weekend of rookies to watch in the NAB Cup.

Im looking forward to the games on offer, and hoping that we see some quality on FTA not being a Foxtel subscriber.

Unfortunately, all there is on FTA is tonight, but with the Dons-Saints-Lions in action, its time to "go the Doctor" and hope Hibberd is going to be the answer to our teams MPP and finance structures.   Well priced, if theres even a hint that he is well in James Hirds plans then he will be in each team quicker than a seagull eats a chip.

Other interesting points would be whether we see any of Bomber Thompson in the Dons structure, whether the Saints are still the Bombers b.tch, and if the Lions are going to give us anything other than a possible wooden spoon from 2011.

Foxtel subscribers get the enjoyment of not just investing in Uncle Ruperts retirement, but also of course the intriguing series between the Swans-Suns-Giants.  Giants and Suns have been told by their respective coaches that age and experience means nothing, and to go out and play football.   Needless to say the Swans are clear-cut favourites.

Points of interest from that series:  Where will Goodes play, has Hunt improved, is it one year too soon for GWS to be playing - lots of legitimate questions.   One thing to keep in mind is not to underestimate that there could be a young star wearing Red and White this year like Hannebery.   Dont fall over yourselves in drool over the GC players when there could be others worth your attention.

Final game in the series is on Sunday on Fox.  Its the Kardinia Park twilight series.   As if to show the Cricket Australia board that you can play matches there between 3 and 7, thats when the AFL equivalent of 20-20 is going to take centre stage.

Interesting points would have to be the battle of the twins, probably the first time twins have coached against one another in the big league.  One with a side predicted to be on the rise, the other with a side of old stagers presumed to be on the skids.  Geelong to me look like the Hawks of 1991.  Be careful, this "too old, too slow" team could do some damage given half a chance.

Not sure what Id like to see, but hearing hype about Atley, Wallis, Liberatore and other young mids makes the series worth a good look.

My tips for what theyre worth:

    Bombers in straight sets
Swans to bury their opponents in the cross-town show of strength
North to show the first surprise of the season - a team that can beat Geelong at Skilled
GC and Adelaide to get the Wild Cards
