Round 1 of the finals has kicked off with a bang. Please join us over the break where we review all the finals in the various leagues.

    Premier League

After week one of the finals both the Jug O Naughts and Wade Machine have progressed through to the next round of the major finals. Walesy and Heaver have been eliminated.

In the minor round finals, Ant and Jet are still alive in their quest to avoid relegation. I am sorry to say that one of the founding members of the Premier League - Jasmine - has been relegated to Division One. I am sure it won't be long before we see her back in the Premier League again.

    Major finals

    4 The Jug O Naughts 1770 defeated 5 Too Seriouseses 1679

This game was in the balance at the start of the last day. However Fez was able to outscore Walesy by 111 to get the win and move onto the next round of the finals. Games played were 48-45 in favour of Walesy. Fez will be hoping that the ticking time bomb of DMC keeps it together over the next few weeks to help his finals chances. This week the best players for Fez were Vucevic (220/4), Ariza (194/3) and DeRozan (185/3). It has been a very solid season for Walesy and he can be proud of his efforts in his return to the Premier League. The leading scorers for Walesy this round were Irving (268/4), George (209/4) and Gay (189/3).

    3 Wade Machine 1647 defeated 6 Heaver 1386

Wade Machine hit the ground running and after day one of this matchup they were already 270 pts up and were able to maintain this lead throughout. Games played were 44 all. Heaver did well to make the finals considering his team was hard hit with injuries in the middle stages of the season. This week the best players for Wade Machine were Noah (226/4), Curry (189/4) and Jordan (170/3). The leading scorers for Heave this week were Harden (174/3), Westbrook (164/3) and T Thompson (161/4). Wade Machine will be looking to keep the good run going by knocking off Westside in round 2 of the finals.

    Minor finals

8 Run TMC 1378 defeated 7 Feel the Love 1216

    9 Anthak 1312 defeated Ruddy's Cavaliers 991

    11 2 Gasols 1 Brow 1378 defeated Jasmine's Mob 1216

    Division 1:
    [span style='font-weight: bold;]#5 The Raptors (9-7) 1530 def by #4 Team Stowie (9-7) 1684

The Raptors couldn't get over the line against Stowie despite winning four of the days during the matchup. Big scores from Thad Young (223 / 4) and Vucevic (220 / 4) led the way for Stowie, while Monta (178 / 4) and Harden (174 / 3) led for The Raptors. Stowie will now face the well rested #1 seed MBAC. In their two previous matchups, MBAC took the chocolates by 140 and then 143 points. Slowing down the Kevins from Minnesota will be the key to Stowie getting a win, while MBAC will have his hands full with a pair of Pelicans in Reke and The Brow who are picking up some late momentum.

    [span style='font-weight: bold;]#6 Enter The Dragon (8-8) 1368 def by #3 CK Nicks (11-5) 1437

Coming in to the matchup in good form the super hot Enter The Dragon were quickly cooled by back to back 300 point days from CK Nicks. Kyrie (268 / 4) led the scoring for CK, picking up his first career TD on the way, and PG24 (209 / 4) continued his hot form since the All-Star break. ETD were led by recent trade pickups Steph Curry (189 / 4), who had a TD of his own, and Gortat (156 / 3) but couldn't find enough to extend their season. CK will head travel to face the #2 seed Adelaide Maggots in the next round. These two split the two previous matchups. The Maggots will be looking to MVP favourite KD to lead them into the GF with IT2 and Noah providing ample support. For CK Nicks, DMC must behave himself as one more T will see him suspended for a game, while Kyrie and PG24 will look to keep their hot streaks rolling.

    [span style='font-weight: bold;]#8 Cyril33s Crushers (7-9) 1171 def by #7 Broady Broncos (7-9) 1543

Broady Broncos rolled to an easy win with Ariza (194 / 3) leading the way. This leaves the Crushers with a must win matchup against Laino's Nuggets in the next round as they both look to avoid relegation.

    [span style='font-weight: bold;]#10 Fudge Fudge (5-11) 901 def by #9 Crossy Crusaders (6-10) 1767

Poor Fudge was destroyed by Melo (210 / 4) and Crossy Crusaders in a matchup that provided both the highest and lowest scores. Fudge was led by Elton Brand (139 / 3) as too many players to list found themselves 'O' for the week. Crossy will move on to face Broady Broncos as they aim to stay in Div 1 for another year.

    [span style='font-weight: bold;]#12 Travys Boys (5-11) 1263 def by #11 Laino's Nuggets (5-11) 1450

Laino's finally had Westbrook (164 / 3) back and firing but found out Jrue would not be returning this season. This didn't stop them defeating a finally healthy Travys Boys, who were led by Dunleavy (175 / 4), and booking a must win matchup with Cyril33s Crushers in the next round.

    [span style='font-weight: bold;]Round 2 Playoff Matchups

    #3 CK Nicks (11-5) at #2 Adelaide Maggots (11-5)

Enter The Dragon (8-8) at The Raptors (9-7)

Crossy Crusaders (6-10) at Broady Broncos (7-9)

    Laino's Nuggets (5-11) at Cyril33s Crushers (7-9)

Travys Boys (5-11) at Fudge Fudge (5-11)
    Division Two

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

Brisbane Average Joes - 1511 def Biggest Losers - 1447

Well the Biggest Losers certainly lived up to their name with a demoralising defeat at the hands of the Average Joes. Kudos must go to the Average Joes who was behind in the game count (39-42) but still managed to secure the victory and stays alive in the playoff race. The Average Joes players stood up when they needed to with Kyrie Irving leading the way with a score of 268/4 and 4 other players averaged over 40ppg for the week. On the other hand James Harden was the only player to really stand up for the Losers with a score of 174/3 but a host of the Losers players had bad weeks which culminated in their early exit from the playoffs.

The Hinrich Manoeuvre - 1545 def Paky Ballers - 1531

This was a very entertaining and close contest with THM outscoring the Ballers by 30 points on the last days play to eventually win the contest by 14 points. This was another case where the team that played the least games won (42-46). THM was led by Thad Young with a score of 223/4 and they also had 5 other players average over 40ppg. The Ballers were led by Trevor Ariza with 194/3 but were let down by a number of other players on the roster. THM progress to the semi-finals and will come up against the league-leading Broken Arrows whereas the Ballers will start their off-season a little earlier than GM Drake would have liked.

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]The Boxes continued the hot streak with their 8th straight win and a resounding victory over the Minis. The Minis started strong on the back of Melo's big game but the Boxes finished with a sweet Noah triple double.

The main men for Blatche were Curry 189/4 and Rondo 151/3. Kyrie was the standout for the Buckets with 268/4, ably assisted by Andre Drummond with 159/3.

    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]#1 Dirty Hawes v #4 Wafty Boxes
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]The battle between the top 2 draft picks - Slim Reaper v King James. LBJ plays one extra game which could be crucial seeing as both players are really stepping up their play. Wafty has seen some great form from Dragic, Pau, Noah and Al Jefferson lately. The Hawes may well see Spencer Hawes step up as he adjusts to life in Cleveland with big weeks also needed from Isaiah Thomas, Klay Thompson, Kemba and Favors. 5 extra games could play in to Waftys hands this week but never discount the number 1 seed. They earned that for a reason.
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]#2 ElBonz v #3 Nettin Blatche
    <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
2 v 3. Harden v Curry - and the rest. ElBonz has been putting up some big scores on the back of Harden, Lowry, Teague and Boggie. They are streaky players and when they get hot, they get HOT!
