After a long season we have now arrived at grand final week. But first we must review round 2 of the finals. Please join us over the break where we review all the finals from the various leagues.

    Premier League

King of Karlos will meet Westside Hardcore in the grand final. They were seeded 1 and 2 so it is appropriate that they have made it all the way through to the grand final. I would say that Karlos would go into the match as favourite but Westside will be happy that Millsap is back on deck which gives him a chance.

Last week Jasmine was relegated to Division One. After the results of the minor round finals, Anthak is now the second person from the Premier League going down to Division One. It is sad to see two of the founding members of the TS NBA community be relegated but I am sure it won't be too long before we see them back in the Premier League.

    2 Westside Hardcore 1618 defeated 3 Wade Machine 1550

This match was in the balance at the start of the final day where Westside were holding a small lead. However they were able to onto their lead and claim one of the grand final spots. Games played were 48-47 in favour of Wade Machine. Of all players Matt Barnes (164/3) led the way for Westside followed by Batum (158/4) and Matthews (161/4). Wade Machine have been a force throughout the season and I fully expected them to make the GF with their strong roster but they were let down this round by some of their key players. Noah was the standout with (195/4), next best were Monroe (193/4) and Curry (162/4).

    1 King of Karlos 1609 defeated the 4 Jug O Naughts 1530

Karlos was able to claim a hard fought win over Fez. Once again this match was in the balance on the final day but Fez was unable to pull back the lead of 70 pts. Games played were 45-44 in favour of Fez. Durant stood up when it counted for Karlos with (204/3), next best were Hawes (140/3) and Parsons (139/3). Fez will be pleased with how well his team has played this season. This week he was best served by DMC (202/4), followed by G Green (176/3) and LMA (175/4).

    Minor finals

    8 Run TMC 1808 defeated 9 Anthak 1598

    12 Jasmine's Mob 1436 defeated 10 Ruddy's Cavaliers 1262

    11 2 Gasols 1 Brow 1815 defeated 7 Feel the Love 1357

    Division One

    #4 Team Stowie (9-7) 1822 def #1 Mookie Blaylock Athletic Club (13-3) 1352

It was a matchup where everything went right for the underdog as #4 seed Team Stowie defeating #1 MBAC in a blow out. Pelican pair The Brow (248 / 4) and Reke (236 / 4) went banannas, leading the way for Stowie. MBAC were led by PFs Love (269 / 4) and Lee (146 / 4) but were left short handed with Varejao remaining out and then Oladipo joining him on the sidelines for the duration of the matchup. Having the highest points for total on the year will see MBAC head to the premier division and will be a team to watch out for next season.

    #3 CK Nicks (11-5) 1736 def by #2 Adelaide Maggots (11-5) 1788

Big wins over the last three days of the matchup got #3 seed CK Nicks close as #2 seed Maggots held on to make the Final. An impressive ten players soared over triple figures for the Maggots with Faried (221 / 4) and Durant (204 / 3) leading the charge. Big man pair DMC (202 / 4) and D12 (165 / 4) led for CK Nicks as an impressive season comes to an end. The Maggots used a massive eleven game winning streak to secure the #2 seed and will be looking for IT2 to continue a stellar breakout year in the final matchup of the season.

Enter The Dragon (8-8) 1496 def by The Raptors (9-7) 1800

    Crossy Crusaders (6-10) 1707 def Broady Broncos (7-9) 1491

Crossy continues to fight for his Div 1 life and will move on to a rivalry matchup with a chance to avoid relegation.

    Laino's Nuggets (5-11) 1256 def Cyril33s Crushers (7-9) 1195

Laino got a much needed win keeping himself alive in the relegation battle. A matchup with rival Crossy will decide who heads down to Div 2 next season.

    Travys Boys (5-11) 1509 def Fudge Fudge (5-11) 1410

    Round 3 Playoff Matchups

    #4 Team Stowie (9-7) at #2 Adelaide Maggots (11-5)

    Division Two

    <blockquote type='cite]The Hinrich Manoeuvre - 1651 def Bokoshe Broken Arrows - 1611</blockquote><blockquote type='cite]
    <div>

In the biggest upset of the year the 5th seeded THM narrowly beat the number one seed, the Broken Arrows. This was a tight affair for the entire week with THM outscoring the Broken Arrows by 57 points on the final day to secure the victory and the championship game berth. Both teams used all of their allocated acquisitions and the games played were in favour of the Broken Arrows 53-49. THM were well served by Dwight Howard (165/4), Jimmy Butler (161/4) and David Lee ((146/4) whilst the Broken Arrows best players were Pau Gasol (238/5), Paul George (160/4) and Klay Thompson (144/4).

Six Ten Two Forty - 1802 def Brisbane Average Joes - 1433

In the second of the semi-finals the number two seed Two Forty cruised to victory by a whopping 369 points over the 6th seeded Average Joes, setting up the championship game against THM. Two Forty had a narrow win in the game count 44-43. Two Forty were best served by the trio of Ty Lawson (259/4), LeBron James (244/4) and Gerald Green (176/3) whilst the Average Joes best 3 players were Al Jefferson (231/4), Gordon Hayward (161/4) and Kyrie Irving (140/3).

What a great season it has been in Division 2 with it all culminating this week, as follows:

The Hinrich Manoeuvre vs Six Ten Two Forty

Teams to be promoted to Division 1 (pending confirmation):

Good luck to The Hinrich Manoeuvre and Six Ten Forty and let the best team win!

    Division Three

    #4 Wafty Boxes 1991 d #1 Dirty Hawes 1483

The planets aligned as the Boxes extended the win streak and comfortably accounted for Dirty Hawes. Wafty&amp;lsquo;s big guns fired behind LBJ 244/4, Pau, 238/5, Jefferson 231/4, Noah 195/4, G Green 176/3, Chandler 168/4 and Lopez 161/4. Conversely, Dirty Hawes who have been so tough all season suffered from the wrong players having fewer games and also being down on form. Only 2 players broke 150 for the week being Iceberg Slim 204/3 and Kemba Walker 164/4. The Hawes were just outgunned this time and will lick their wounds in the playoff for 3rd and 4th

    #2 Team ElBonz 1600 d #3 Nettin Blatche 1600

Yep that's right. After a full week it came down to the last day and things looked bleak for ElBonz. Elbonz was looking down the barrel being behind on the scoreboard and playing less games than Nettin Blatche. Then Harden (114), Lowry (81) and Boogie (70) happened! ElBonz shot the lights out and managed to fall 5 points short of a tie. Except the 5 points for a higher rank came in to play drawing ElBonz level with Blatche. The higher rank came in to play again giving Team ElBonz the win over what must be a completely gutted Nettin Blatche.

Top players for Team ElBonz were Harden 276/4, Tyreke 236/4 and Boogie 202/4. For the vanquished Nettin BlatcheMatt Barnes 164/3, Curry 162/4 and Wilson Chandler 160/4 were the main standouts.

    Other results:

    #5 Team Minis 1667 d #6 Rusty Buckets 1265

    #10 Big Shot Bob 1363 d #7 Team ThreePEAT 1335

    #11 Shep's Superstars 1472 d #8 San Diego Anchormen 1086

    Preview Championship Game:

    #2 Team ElBonz v #4 Wafty Boxes

Given head to head form and momentum, Wafty Boxes have a right to claim favouritism here. Wafty has claimed victory twice of ElBonz and is has not been defeated in more than 2 months. LeBron, Jefferson, Pau, Noah and Dragic have been key to some tremendous scores recently and Wafty has to be confident going in to this match up.

Team ElBonz were the 2nd best team all season and for that reason alone should feel just as entitled to favouritism. ElBonz has proven to be a mster of juggling the waiver wire and has a few games advantage already over Wafty. The big guns for ElBonz are Harden, Lowry, Milsap, Boogie and Teague although Tyreke has stepped up recently also.

In the last match up Milsap missed for ElBonz while LBJ missed a game for the Boxes.

This game is anyone's for the taking and will rely on some shrew management and a bit of luck to take home the spoils.

    Good luck both teams.
