The first round of the NBA fantasy season has come and gone. This round was either hit or miss for a lot of teams due to the schedule where some teams were playing 4 games and other teams were only playing 2 games. Also a lot of people may already be having second thoughts about some of their draft choices. There already has been a lot of activity in the Premier League where teams have been raiding the FA list and waivers.
The first week of the season has seen the Knicks come out of the gate flying and they are looking very impressive and are playing good defence. The Lakers are struggling and now Nash is out for a week, the Hornets have surprised everyone with their play, the Bobcats even won their first game and there are some teams which have not improved on their play from last season (Wizards, Pistons, Kings)
Please read over the break for the review of each league.

I will review the Premier League, Stowie will do the review of Division One and Rev will do the review of Division Two.
Premier League
Ant hak (1097) v Linsanity 17 (768)
The matchup between the former league manager and the current league manager was a one sided contest right from day one. Ant hak had a full complement of players to choose from while Linsanity were missing Nash and J Smoove at various times during the matchup but it would have not made any difference if they played. The best players for Ant Hak were LBJ (179/3), Kobe (175/4) and Varejao (146/3). The leading scorers for Linsanity were Dragic (128/3), Ray Allen (106/3) and Cousins (87/3).
Wade Machine (907) v King of Karlos (905)
This was the closest match in the Premier League this round and went right down to the wire. Karlos threw everything at the Wade Machine by raiding the FA list but still was not able to get over the line. The 2 negative scores from Gerald Green -5 and Wilson Chandler -3 came back to haunt Karlos. The best players for Wade Machine were Millsap (130/3), Wade (120/3) and Evans (98/3). Gortat (140/3) led the way for Karlos followed by Curry (102/3) and Jefferson (101/3)
Adelaide Maggotz (1190) v Fudge’s Sixers (681)
This matchup was very one sided due to Fudge fielding a number of players who are currently out injured (Bynum, Gordon and Nene) and then Turk and J Rich went down as well during the round. The Maggotz showed no mercy despite the number of injuries to Fudge’s team and his team was led by Beardsanity (James Harden) who went nuts in the 1st week of the season. Harden scored 203 pts from 3 games followed by Bosh (153/3) and Jennings (136/2). Timmy D was the best player for Fudge with (150/3) followed by Pierce (109/3) and Lawson (93/3)
Run TMC (952) v Ruddy’s Cavaliers (864)
Run TMC was able to post a comfortable victory over the Cavaliers this round. Ruddy was another one who raided the FA list this round looking for players who could help him get over the line. But unfortunately Run TMC had a more consistent spread of scorers during the week. For Owen, the best players were Gasol (165/4), Noah (143/3) and George (127/3) while Ruddy had to rely upon Durant (183/3), Klay Thompson (89/3) and Hawes (85/2)
Jasmine’s Mob (1318) v Team Heaver (1268)
Most teams in the Premier League are already looking at Jasmine’s team thinking how did she get such a great team in the draft? She definitely has put together one of the most even rosters in the Premier League and it is going to take a very good team to get the win against her. Having said all that , Heaver came very close to getting the win in the highest scoring match of the round. Heaver can count himself very unlucky to have the 2nd highest score of the round but still losing. For Jasmine, CP3 led the way with (188/3), Batum (140/3) and Linsanity (131/3). Heaver’s best players were Lowry (210/3), Mo Williams (146/3) and Hibbert (124/3).
Westside Hardcore (1082) v The Jug –O-Naughts (928)
The Jug-O-Naughts were one of the teams promoted from Division One last season and were looking to get off to a good start in the Premier League. However, Westside Hardcore were more consistent throughout the matchup. The best players for Westside were Howard (170/4), Jamal Crawford (142/3) and Collison (137/3). The leading scorers for the Jug-O-Naughts were Rondo (147/3), Scola (140/3) and Carmelo (106/2)
Division One
TRADES: One deal was processed just a day into the season with Everybody Loves Raymond sending Varejao and Mo Williams to Didnt Draft Durant (doh) for Big Baby Davis and DeMar DeRozan.
Team Stowie (0-1) (stowie) 963 def by Didnt Draft Durant (doh) (1-0) (Jet) 1031
DDD got out to a lead of just over a hundred on day one and was strong enough to hold it throughout the matchup. LBJ (179fpts / 3gms) provided the bulk of the points for DDD and was well supported by Tony Parker (131 / 3) and Paul Millsap (130 / 3). Team Stowie only had two crack the tonne for the week with Goran Dragic (128 / 3) and David West (112 / 3). Interestingly Andre Miller (74 / 3) represented both teams during the matchup.
Nahla Vs LittleDee (1-0) (rodgo) 1187 def Albert Park Rangers (0-1) (bgt) 1051
A couple of big days either side of a donut gave Nahla Vs LittleDee the win here. With five players cracking the tonne for the week, Kobe (175fpts / 4gms), Rondo (147 / 3) and new Clipper Jamal Crawford (142 / 3) the higlights. Albert Park Rangers was also lead by a Laker in Pau Gasol (165 / 4) supported by Joakim Noah (143 / 4) and new Sun Luis Scola (140 / 3). Spencer Hawes (85 / 2) got Nahla Vs LittleDee off to the perfect start as he managed 16pts, 12reb and 5blks on opening night to finish with 70fpts. Not bad for pick #112.
The Bucks Fizz (0-1) (spm67) 629 def by Crossy Crusaders (1-0) (crossy) 1089
The Bucks Fizz is off to a rough start with O players in Bynum and Billups plus missing Gallinari (65fpts / 2gms) on opening night. Crossy Crusaders didnt take it easy though hitting the waivers hard and using sixteen different players through the week, though ROY candidate Damian Lillard (140 / 3) and Blazer team mate LaMarcus Aldridge (126 / 3) did most of the damage. Only Carmelo (106 / 3) managed to hit triple figures for The Bucks Fizz.
Canuck Steelers (0-1) (UnderAchievers) 1114 def by Mildura Dunkanauts (1-0) (walesy) 1140
The Mildura Dunkanauts timed it perfectly, taking the lead during the final day. It was a big week from #1 pick Durant (183fpts / 3gms) and old man Timmy D (150 / 3) with big performances from Horford (88 / 2) and JR Smith (76 / 3) on the last day. Canuck Steelers had CP3 (188 / 3) and Bosh (153 / 3) racking them up with JJ Redick (47 / 1) looking like a nice addition for the coming week. Amazingly, Mildura Dunkanauts didnt hit the waiver wire once!
Travys Boys (0-1) (travyboy11) 874 def by CK Nicks (1-0) (costak) 932
In a low scoring, defensive battle it was the CK Nicks coming out on top thanks to KMart (130fpts / 3) who surprisingly doesnt play much defence at all! Also raising the bat for CK Nicks was Marcus Thornton (102 / 3) and Al Jefferson (101 / 3). Travys Boys had fresh Laker Dwight Howard (170 / 4) top the scoring after an up and down week. They were delt a tough blow right on the eve of the season starting with news of Danny Granger being out indefinately with a knee complaint.
Broady Broncos (0-1) (nicksnow) 1068 def by Everybody Loves Raymond (1-0) (Liquid_sixx) 1198
Everybody Loves Raymond has a nice even squad and with plenty of players having a good first week. Six of them reached triple figures led by recent recruit Mo Williams (146fpts / 3gms), Nic Batum (140 / 3) and late round pick Darren Collison (137 / 3). Broady Broncos may have gotten two of the steals of the draft with fifth rounder Kyle Lowry (210 / 3) and second round pick James Harden (203 / 3) currently the #1 and #2 for fantasy points after 1 week.
