Only a bit over 2 weeks before the season starts!!!

I was planning to do a preview of each NBA team for this upcoming season but I have that many things happening at the moment I will have to give that a miss. However, I thought I would give a quick summary of some of the player movements that have occurred during the off season.

The biggest move that occurred during the off season that everyone knows about was the trade of Howard to the Lakers. The Lakers had to give up Bynum to get the deal done. The other big move for the Lakers was picking up Nash from the Suns. Nash finally gets the chance to play for a team with a legitimate chance of winning the championship.

As part of the Howard trade, Bynum has now landed in Philly. The 76’ers get the big man they have been looking for and I fully expect Bynum to have a huge season. Unfortunately for Philly as part of the Howard trade, they lost Iggy who is now with the Nuggets. Iggy was huge in the playoffs last year but he will fit in well with the fast paced offence at Denver.

Linsanity is officially dead in New York City. Lin is now with the Rockets and it will be interesting to see how he backs up after his break out season last year. However the fast food owners of New York City are rejoicing with the news that Raymond Felton is back in town. Fast food sales will go through the roof now that Felton is back playing for the Knicks. Carmelo will also be happy that all the limelight is back on him instead of playing second fiddle to Linsanity.

The big 3 at Boston have been broken up with the news that Ray Allen has switched to the dark side and joined up with Lebron, DWade and Bosh at the Heat. KG is not happy about it and has not spoken to Ray Allen since he left. Boston have been able to improve their roster with the additions of “Jet” Terry and Courtney Lee. Plus Jeff Green is back after not playing at all last season.

All Star Joe Johnson is now the Nets. The Hawks were forced to move JJ because of salary cap reasons. The Nets will be a tough to beat this year with D Will, Crash Wallace, Lopez and JJ in the same team.

Other notable player movements include the following:

Odom is now back in LA but he is playing for the Clippers

Lowry has gone to the Craptors (sorry, Raptors)

Scola has gone to the Suns

Collison has gone to the Mavs

Brand has gone to the Mavs

Roy has come out of retirement to play for the TWolves
