So, you guys might have noticed a new field on the Stats page. Its a shiny new field that will only display if youre looking at data from round 20 onwards. Its called "Next Year".

What youll find is that its a prediction of next years values. For Supercoach, it works pretty darn well from next year, Dreamteam however, its predicting a MagicNumber(TM) of 4200. (Because SuperCoach stays the same from year to year, it should be pretty good.

Now, one thing Ive taken liberties with are the discounting- Ive applied a simplified method of 0 games = 40%, 1 game = 30%, 3 games = 20%, 6 games = 10% - but you can see the percentage and original salary by mousing over any player who has an * next to their salary.

    Basically, a fairly conservative approach.

What does it mean? means we can hunt for bargains already- and one that stands out like the proverbial dogs... bits... it Drew Petrie- A premium ruck with a solid history, with a conservative 20% discount will come to the low low price of $235k. Almost cheap enough for a bench option that MPP pending, could cover the rucks and forwards. Definitely will be cheap enough if he scores a 40% discount!

Sorting the data by Year-to-Date movement, sees Fev at the top of the list, priced at $260k and Neon Leon priced at $363k. Cox might turn a few heads priced at $467k and Bernie Vince at $412k has for to raise interest.

Andy Otten looks like hell be priced at $242k, which will put him into most squads I reckon.

At the top of the tree, we see B. Goddard at $695k, Swan at $687k and Ablett at $683k- then it falls away to more affordable levels with Judd at $634k).

So there we go, for those of you whos seasons are over- next year has just begun! Have a little looksee and tell us where you see the bargains!
