Well...Better late than never, right?
After last weeks nail bitters, this week anything could of happened. Â What did happen was that Stowie continued his league dominance with his third straight win and Sam Crow broke his string of ducks and posted his first W for the season. Â Ive noticed the waiver wire has been running hot over the last couple of days as everyone scrambles to patch over the cracks starting to appear in their team sheets caused by injuries or the realisation that the fella you took in the third round is just a spud, even worse if that spud gets injured (Reggie Bush, Im looking at you!).
A few of you were able to put last weekends dissapointing loss behind you and post a win this week and there were those of us whose season are just heading South, still theres plenty of time to turn it all around. Â On a better note the Pats also got back on the winners page with a less than convincing win over the Bills and for anyone who saw Carolina play Cinci on Monday morning must be wondering what the hell this sport is all about, seriously, that was the worst game Ive ever seen, carolinas QB looked like a third division hack. Â Boldin Showers must be pretty happy with his decision to draft Peyton Manning because he just puts up big points every week. Â Manning knows that Indys defence is shot and it is up to him to outscore all-comers meaning big fantasy points for BS. Â Well anyway time to launch into the games review...<!--more-->
Ill start with the undefeated TEAM STOWIE(e). Â He obliterated my boys, MR WIGGLES(e) to the tune of 56 points. Â Just an all-round A-grade performance with only two of his team not reaching double figure scores, and to top it all off the highest individual point scorer for the week, Bolden from Baltimore with 32 of his own. Â Seriously, Stowie top work mate, more of this and youll leaves us all in your wake. Â Walesy this week its your turn, cmon big fella do it for all of us.
Next up SAM CROW(w) took on walesys TOO SERIOUSESES(e), and handed him a solid 36 point drubbing to get his season going. Â Sam Crows faith in drafting Michael Vick has been repayed in spades after Vick stole the starters position and never looked back, scoring a huge 32 points. Â Couple that with a 24 from Johnson (#1 draft pick), to make amends for last weeks parthetic 2 and Walesy was always going to struggle. Â Walesy, looking at your scores from this week and Im amazed you even got 72, not too much to like there, still, theres always next week!
Next cab off the rank was ADELAIDE MAGGOTS(e) up against AUSSIE BATTLERS(e).  Maggots doing it comfortably 105-83.  This was won largely due to an exceptional game from Austin Collie at TE and a welcome return to form for Randy Moss chiming in with 2TDs for a healthy 18 points.  Collie was taken in the 15th round at pick 149, thats some serous value right there.  He got over the line for 2 TDs and looked unstoppable.  Not too far behind was ABs TE (ha, ha) putting up 21 points of his own and also running in 2 TDs, unfortunately without support from the rest of the team with the Dolphins D/ST scoring a miserable -2.  What a day for the Tight Ends.
On to the QB showdown. Â THE PACK(w) armed with Phillip Rivers, against BOLDIN SHOWERS(w) sporting the great Peyton Manning. Â Both QBs putting up big points with Manning taking the choccies 25-24 and BS getting up over The Pack 101-79. Â The big concern for BS is the ongoing disappointment from first round pick Ray Rice (#3), and add an injury to that and it could be trouble. Â The Pack was let down badly by Jahvid Best who did not live up to his name. Â Last week he top scored with 40, this week 3 and an injury to boot (pardon the pun, he has an injury called turf-toe). Â What the hell is turf-toe you ask? Basically, its a swollen toe...get over it, bloody yanks.
Last game of the round saw the UNDER ACHIEVERS(w) beat up on DOOBIA DOOBS(w) 117-77. Â The UAs saw three of their big names names put up 20+ scores led by Adrian Peterson (pick #2) bring in 31 on his own, I guess thats why you pay him the big bucks. Â Also a sterling effort from the Steelers D/ST getting 18 points. Â The steelers are highly fancied to go all the way this year and so far they havent even played their first choice QB. Â Nothing too exciting to report out of this matchup except for quite a few injury concerns for both teams.
Dont forget the byes start this week, with <a href="http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/dal/dallas-cowboys">[span style="color: #000000">Dallas, <a href="http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/kc/kansas-city-chiefs">[span style="color: #000000">Kansas City, <a href="http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/min/minnesota-vikings">[span style="color: #000000">Minnesota, [span style="color: #000000"><a href="http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/tb/tampa-bay-buccaneers">[span style="color: #000000">Tampa [span style="color: #000000">Bay all having the week off.  Having a quick look at the rosters, Under Achievers looks most affected.  Not much happening in the way of trades but plenty happening on the waiver and from free agency.  The best time to look at the waivers is wednesday so you can get a claim in nice and early.  If  anyone is bored check out Frank Gores picture on the ESPN website, that is one scary dude.  Till next week, happy trading...
