With only 4 rounds to go before playoff season starts up, every match-up counts. This is especially true in the eastern conference where no one is able to show any consistency and break away from the pack. Because of this it looks like only one team from the east will qualify for the playoffs with the next two with the best record coming from the west. The race is on!
In the NFL the news reads like this; Favre breaks career record, Moss finds 3rd team in a month, Cowboys sack coach after another embarrassing loss. Also the Patriots lose for the first time in weeks and now come up against fellow superbowl contenders Pittsburgh in what could be the decider for top seed in the AFC. This round also sees the final rounds for byes, after that its a sprint to the finish and well see who is able to keep their roster intact. Time for the league review...

First cab off the rank was the match-up between top side  BOLDIN SHOWERS(w) against bottom side DOOBIA DOOBS (w).  In theory it should have been a stroll through the park but Doobs provided stubborn resistence and ended up only losing 77-70.  However, a win is a win and that takes BS to a handy 2 games clear at the top and looking certain to play in the post-season.  Neither team had any standout players and at the end of the day it was the Saints D/ST that proved crucial as they hauled in a massive 21 points for BS, and gave him the dubbya.
Next game saw a crtical game in the west when THE PACK took on SAM CROW. Â The Pack needed the win to stay in touch for second spot and a win to Sam Crow would of given him a game break in second. Â When all was done it was The Pack that got the victory 124-87. Â A game high 31 from Arian Foster and 25 from Phillip Rivers were the highlights in what was a great score from his roster. Â Sam Crow was rewarded for his faith in Vick as he game him a return of 25 points also. Â This leaves both these boys with a 5-4 record to add to another three teams with the same record and only two spots up for grabs in the playoffs, highest point scorers for the year go through.
Next up was TEAM STOWIE (e) taking on the UNDER ACHIEVERS (w) knowing a win would keep him top of the East. Â Unfortunately it was the UAs that were too strong 84-72. Â 26 from Adrian Peterson and 21 from Mark Sanchez proved the difference between the sides with the rest of the teams pretty evenly matched. Â The loss dropped Stowie to second on the Points For rule and kept the UAs in the hunt. Â Both sides are also 5-4 with Stowie only second on PF by 2 but the UAs are a long way behind in the west and will probably need to keep on winning to see post-season action.
Next was another critical game in the East (they all are now) with TOO SERIOUSESES needing to beat AUSSIE BATTLERS to keep their hopes alive. Â The bye proved costly for the TSes going down 89-73 with plenty of uzual starters sitting on the pine. Â The win sent ABs to the top of the East by 2 PF points and left the TSes with an almost impossible task to see playoff action. Â ABs play Team Stowie next round in a 1v2 match-up which could prove critical to the playoff make-up with top spot well and truly up for grabs.
The final game for the round saw my boys, MR WIGGLES (e) cop another spanking at the hands of  the ADELAIDE MAGGOTS (e) 128-82.  The maggots had an awesome week with three scores in the 20s led surprisingly by the Packers D/ST with 28 as they beat up on a poor Cowboys outfit.  The only negative for the AMs was the lack of faith they showed in Brett Favre, he punished them for being benched and notched up 21, his replacement only managing 7.  This kept AMs in contention in the east with a record of 4-5, equal with me and only one game behind the leaders.  This should be one exciting finish!
So thats about it. Â The big games are still rolling out in the next few weeks as everyone in the East is in control of their own destiny, no more byes and the top four all playing each other in the final rounds, it should be an exciting run to the finals. Â Boldin Showers might have done enough to get a playoff spot with his two game advantage but in what is proving to be a very close league anything could happen! Â Only Doobia Doobs is out of it really but Walesy and his TSes would need a minor miracle to make the big dance. Â Well im spent and that will do for another week. Â Good luck everyone (except Boldin Showers, I hope to hand you a drubbing this week), till next week, happy trading...
