Regarding the finals series, the FIXture committee has decided to run the same system as last season's finals series. We forgot to mention that until now, but the decision was made months ago. Even though we understand the matter is somewhat contentious, we decided it was not appropriate or fair to thrash it out year after year, when the final decision has always been the same. Last season, it was especially difficult to determine the best outcome, but we felt we did the best we could with the extensive and varied feedback that had been presented at the time. During last season, it became evident that some people were growing tired of the debate, and it would not be fair to expect everyone to once again present their arguments just 1 season later. We've decided to give the same format another go this season, and we'll see how it goes.
    This is from last season:

That'd be right. Fitzy now knows to put Lachie Hunter on the field and he'll score 150 just to spite me.

Shoulda kept my mouth shut :)

Ah CR, ever the punter. Trying to pick off the Cows while they are down to 12 or 13 players (as we have been for the last fair while). I think it is a good bet chief (see what I did there?). Intriguing that our pre-season trade of Ziebell for Harwood is irrelevant this round with Jack suspended and Ryan out after surgery. Selection on Thursday night could well have a bearing on this tussle, I reckon we will both be going through the Ins and Outs with a little trepidation.
Best of luck amigo, hope it is close but not too close. Don't want to put too much pressure on the old jam tart.

Always an interesting bit of lottery to have to name your opponents before team selection on a Thursday night.

Could make for some fun and games.

Could make for some fun and games. IMO, it is a feature that makes the play-offs really interesting. For mine I would like to see the selection of the opponent bought forward to a Monday deadline so that Tribunal decisions were still unknown. Mind you finishing outside the top 4 has created that view. In the last two years when we were top 4 I was a fan of midday Friday. It would be good to have a full discussion of this over summer, albeit I suspect an individual's preference would reflect how that person viewed their chances of a premiership in the next couple of years. Good old human nature - you cannot beat it.

He was playing the psyche game after chief nominated that with a free choice he would probably choose to play jimbo in round one. Those two boys do not miss a trick to wind each other up, which is just another terrific part of the finals series.

Haha, Jimbo knows (I hope) that me saying that I wanted to pick him if he finished in the bottom half was a mark of [span style='text-decoration: line-through;]fear respect for him as a side. The decision was a tough one to pick the Cows, but as their leader has correctly surmised, in the end it came down to the possibility that they might be playing short. Despite this fact, I still nearly went elsewhere with my selection out of fear of what the Cows midfield could do, heck, they averaged over 100 last week as a team playing with only 13 players. Especially worrying is the form of Robbo, the Swans contingent playing for top 4 against GWS and Fyfe coming back after a loss. No Ziebell is a big loss for me as it means having to play someone like a Jordan Murdoch on ground. To a lesser extent, the injury to James Kelly also hurts, because even if he does play he is a massive green vest risk. Plus, it seems as though Nicholls injury isn't as bad as first thought so my hopes of having Zac Smith play aren't as high as I would like them to be. Menzel could debut and Matty Wright played well in the 2's last week so that might very well mean 15 warm bodies (or 14.5) for the Cows which would make it an even money bet down at ChiefBet. I'm certainly not confident... As for the other fixtures, things played out like I thought they would. And it probably means the four most even finals that could have been scheduled. A bold prediction perhaps, but I could totally see all four finals being decided by 20 points or less.

Best of luck to everyone. May injuries not ruin the even season that we have had.
