The ORFFA played its inaugural round last week with some big crowds turning out to cheer on their boys. Big results for Darraweit, Venus and Foul Bay, while Powlett Plains got up due in part to Nic Nats absence. Results and ladder after rnd 1 beyond the break........<!--more-->

Far Kew 1302 defeated Nunawading 1215

Far Kews midfield smashing out some big scores in this one. Nunas cause not helped by a couple of Colling wood spuds.

Cradle Mountain 1215 lost to Charlies Opening 1225

A tight match played at high altitude. The use of high energy drinks during the match has not gone unnoticed by ORFFA management.

Darraweit Guim 1506 defeated Gariwerd 1094

The Guim serve up a football lesson to a Gariwerd side cruelled by the loss of Priddis to the red vest. Big Ivan already being called the mayor of Darraweit according to reports from the town.

Gundagai 1234 defeated Mt. Beauty 1213

Tight game here but the presence of a certain A. Sandilands ensured that the Grasshoppers were jumping for joy this week.

Powlett Plains 1239 defeated Namitjara 1135

Both sides with injury concerns in this game, with the home team getting the choccies in the end.

Foul Bay 1298 defeated Iron Knob 1148

The chicken lovers powering away in this game. The Coup style of fantasy play now being talked about in the way the Jar has been since it revolutionised ORRFL.

Whitsunday 1046 lost to Birdsville 1169

The Warriors training methods surely must be called into question after a marshmallow loss to the Battlers. Less cocktails and more gym work might be the prescription here.

Waikikamoocow 1046 lost to Venus Bay 1314

Huge win for the young coach of the Vultures whilst the Kiwi boys only face more pain in the form of Foul Bay this week. On a brighter note, ORFFA management understands that Sam Mitchells roll casting has improved enormously.

Marble Bar 1210 lost to Mawson Base 1230

The Penguins got up in a close encounter in extreme conditions. An interesting moment in the game was when the entire Marble Bar team and coaching staff started shotgunning cans at half time, which may have proved decisive in the finish.
