    Round 10 – AFL Round 10
    Retro Round

Ah, the past. Everything was better in the past. Even the recent past - for example, I remember when Richmond were a good team and that was only two years ago.

All that said, nostalgia isn't what it used to be. So this weekend, while we celebrate Retro Round and all the good things in the past that made the game great (like Richmond winning), we also note that perhaps other parts of the game might be far better now than what they used to be.

So some forward looking nostagia, as it were. Though nothing can beat the late 70s trend of flourescent bright footy shorts.

    Onwards.

Venus Bay Vultures vs Wineglass Bay Packers
Wagga Wagga Wombats vs Gariwerd Cockatoos
Marble Bar Misfits vs Waikickamoocow Incorrigibles
Lovely Banks Lilacs vs Nareewillock Nuffers
Cradle Mountain Devils vs Mount Beauty Uglies
Charlies Opening Spelunkers vs Gundagai Grasshoppers
Dunsborough Dung Beetles vs Larrikin Lagoon Lefties
Iron Knob Codpieces vs Birdsville Battlers

Absolutely fitting that in Retro Round two of the more senior citizens in @Len and me get to have a (gentle) tussle. And then reminisce about the old days; like when TSChat was fantastic on Friday evenings, when on Sundays there would be updates of in-match scores ....
The nurse has just tapped me on the shoulder to say I dozed off and, ah, wouldn't that be the nostalgia round not the retro round?

Retro Round also plays host to a version of the Household Cup between the Lilacs and the Nuffers.

I am preparing for a week of housework in the wake of a loss in this matchup. Or the purchase of something. Or both.

Nothing really retro about all this.

Nuffers team for the Household Cup clash with the Lilacs.

DEF: Redman ,Richards, Idun, Clark (Howes)
    MID: Warner, Gulden, Serong, Rowell
    R: Ryan (BZT)
FWD: Langford, Daniels, Cameron, Marshall (West)

Hoping against hope we have a ruckman and that Ryan is a late in. Dow gets a game which is nice.

cows to front for the old-timers trophy. It is very much a team for the future and as such and hence some players, such as J McGovern and Prestia, are either omitted or listed as emergencies because of their injuries or injury history.

D - Sexton (118), Newman, Burton, Hinge (Campbell)
M - Dunkley, Johnson, Fletcher, Williams (Prestia)
    R - ROB
F - Close (50), Papley, Treacy, Owen (Finlayson)
    I - ANB, Sparrow (Fyfe)

    May the better side win
