Heres Terry!
This preview is for the forthcoming and final round and, unlike the ORRFL, we don’t know the results yet.
Lot of tight ones coming up this weekend, making for an exciting finale.
In our first year we have opted for first past the post and Foul Bay has romped home. Reminiscent of the Essendon teams of yesteryear, the Chooks have gone through the season undefeated.

BUT! This week Foul Bay (1) come up against Charlie’s Opening (3). Last week Tucky and the Chooks scored 1151, while Charlie managed 1247. Rumour has it Kane Cornes will go to Tucky (because he’s too slow to catch Cotchin). Can Charlie break the unbeaten run? This will be a close contest folks.
Then we have Marble Bar (15) hosting Cradle Mountain (9). Only 45 points separated these teams last week and Marble are long overdue for a win and a bit of luck falling their way.
Gundagai (5) take on the Mawson Penguins (7) at home. Normally this would be a highly anticipated contest but we suggest the Hoppers toss the cray pots in the ‘Bidgee, light the barbie and put the beer on ice. Oh, and don’t forget to feed the dog.
Venus Bay (11) get to play their final match at home, hosting Mount Beauty (4). It shows how tight these outer regional leagues can be when only 24 points split these two last week. If you can get good odds a small wager on Fitzy getting up in this one could give a decent return. He will be keen to finish the year on a high note and the scalp of the 4th placed team would do nicely.
Far Kew (12) are at home to Iron Knob (2). The Frogs not without a chance here if generals and late withs come into play.
Social match of the round will be Powlett Plains (14) hosting the Waikicks (13). Who will triumph? The beer or the pinot? The Warriors (16) have their final game at home (Whitsundays a popular destination in this league) hosting Namatjira (17), who might surprise by turning up.
The match of the round has to be The Battle of the Birds. Birdsville (8) take on the Gariwerd Cockatoos (10), who jumped two places on the ladder after last week. This promises to be a nail bighter. Last week the Battlers knocked out a decent 1316, while the Cockies had 1314. Close enough to sweat, or even perspire if you are PC.
That’s it for this year and thanks to BB for the assist. Now we get down to drinking, drafting, trading and raiding.
