    ORFFA - ROUND 2 REVIEW
    By Lenny120

Insomnia round promised to be a big one, and it didn't disappoint with some close matches mixed in with some brilliant scores.

Whitsundays 1148 defeated Marble Bar 1046

The Whits kicked off proceedings in round 2 with a tight win over the Misfits.

In a low scoring encounter, Birchall (121) and Sloane (100) were the only ones to crack the ton for the Whits [EDIT: except for Boak] in an important win to get their first points on the board.

For Marble Bar, a horror start to the season continued, with no one scoring 100+.
Birdsville 1210 defeated Darraweit Guim 968

Birdsville continued their promising start to 2013 with a more than comfortable win over an underperforming Daraweit Guim.

Mcevoy (130) and Howlett (127) led the way for the Battlers in a solid all round performance.

For Darraweit, only Maric and Walters managed a ton, and will have been left pondering what went wrong. Inconsistent scores across the board was the difference in this clash.
Powlett Plains 1194 defeated Gariwerd 1040

Powlett Plains built on their round 1 win last week, with a comfortable victory over Gariwerd.

Bellchambers (144) dominated the defenders of Gariwerd, while Kane Cornes (123) continued his brilliant start to the year for the Packers.

Gariwerd would have been looking to hit back with a win this round after a disappointing loss last round, but too many passengers and not enough leaders saw them slump to 0-2 to start 2013.

Larrikin Lagoon 1166 defeated Lovely Banks 1124

The Lefties got their season on track with a narrow win over the Lilacs.

Led by midfielders Priddis (113) and Conca (113), the Lefties proved too strong in the end and will look to build on this win.

For the Lilacs, it was all over the shop. They would have been left ruing some green vests and horrible displays. Mattner (33), Bird (12) and Brennan (15) were the difference in this one. On a brighter note, 4 people managed to score 100+.
Venus Bay 1331 defeated Nunnawading 1188

The boys from Venus Bay continued their good form at the start of 2013, with a comprehensive win over Nunnawading.

Watson (166), Parker (133) and Garlett (131) were the standout performers for the Vultures.

For the Nuffies, they will take some positives out of this one, with Stanton (128), Dixon (123), O'Meara (120), Lester (111), Broadbent (111), J.P Kennedy (108) and Cross (102) all setting the standard. However, the forward line was given no service all day, with no one managing over 50 points.
Waikickamoocow 1433 defeated Foul Bay 1350

The Cow kickers bounced back from a loss last week, with a brilliant display seeing Foul Bay start the year 0-2.

Whesthoff (163), Mcveigh (144) and Crameri (139) stunned Foul Bay in a very solid team effort.

Foul Bay will have felt like they didn't do much wrong, but were outclassed by a better outfit on the day. Jimmy Bartel (157), Joel Selwood (140) and Tom Liberatore (133) fought hard for Foul Bay, but they weren't offered a whole lot of assistance. Back to the drawing board for the Chickens

Iron Knob 1501 defeated Gundagi 1133

Boy of boy, Wowee. Iron Knob humiliated Gundagi with a smashing performance. They have had an amazing start to 2013 and will be a massive threat in the competition.

Hanley (160), Minson (143) and J Roo (138) did the damage for the Codpieces, topped off by an all-round consistent performance, with no one dropping below 60.

Gundagi were glad to jump off the field and were looking for a place to hide throughout this one. They struggled to show any persistence, with Karnezis (8) and Hampton (29) throwing the salt in the wounds. However, the coaching staff will be pleased with the pick- up of Sammy Dwyer, who will be a handy player for the grasshoppers in the future.

Mounty Beauty 1208 defeated Cradle Mountain 1154

Mount Beauty continued their good start to 2013 with a 54 point win over Cradle Mountain.

Both teams fought hard all day, but a couple of mistakes in the corridor towards the end cost Cradle Mountain their 1st win of the season.

For Mount Beauty, Wingard (145), Sidebottom (131), Rioli (120) and Cotchin (119) were the standouts. They will be impressed with Leuenberger (101) in his debut for Mt Beauty.

Cradle Mountain's Dyson Heppell (149) and Pendlebury (121) offered run and carry through the midfield, but their forward line cost them, unable to capitalize on their oppurtunities.

Wagga Wagga 1342 defeated Charlies Opening 1221

To conclude the insomnia round, Wagga Wagga built on their round 1 win with a comfortable with over Charlies Opening.

3 people cracked the ton in another consistent team performance.

Charlies Opening were brought back down to earth after their upset win in round 1. Jack (130) was the only scorer above 115, and they just didn't have enough gas in the tank to run away with it in the end.
