ORFFA Round 3 (AFL Round 5)
    Mark Seaby Round

The great Mark Seaby sits, sighing deeply. Now aged 41, he contemplates his life and wistfully thinks about the dozen or so years that have elapsed since his retirement from the AFL.

Ever thankful for his decade in the game, his premiership with the Eagles, even his short, injury-marred stint in the Harbour City, Seaby does however admit to one regret - his inability to play for both teams he was drafted by in the original ORFFA draft many moons ago.

A gentle smile crosses his face at the thought. "Can you imagine," he thinks to himself, "how interesting that would have been - to suit up for two fantasy keeper teams each week."

Shaking his head, Seaby hears a knock at his door. Who could it be? He slowly stands, ankles clicking and complaining all the while, and looks out onto his front verandah. Upon seeing a young man he doesn't recognise standing at his front door, his brow furrows slightly.

Seaby opens the door, slowly and inquisitively. "Hi," the young man says from outside, straining to see through the dark wire of Seaby's security door. "Is this Mark Seaby's house? Are you Mark Seaby?

"Yes," comes the reply. "And, can I ask, who are you?"

"I was told to come here by the ORFFA. This is the place, isn't it? You are Mark Seaby, aren't you?"

"Yes, but who are you? Why are you here?"

The young man laughs gently. "My name is Alex Davies. I was told to come here to talk with you as you know all about what it is like to be drafted twice by two ORFFA teams in the same draft. It just happened to me a few weeks ago and I feel a bit ... confused."

Seaby chuckles. Then begins to laugh. "Mate," he says, unlocking the door and reaching for Alex's hand to engulf it in a warm handshake, "it is great to meet you. Come in ... we've got so much to chat about."
