Reduced teams this week in the mighty ORFFA didnt stop some classic matches this week including a couple of nail biters at Marble Bar and Iron Knob. Mawson only manage to get 7 on the park with predictable results. Join me on a magical mystery keeper league tour over the page break........<!--more-->
Marble Bar 761 defeated Waikimoocow 721
The Misfits get a win a home in close one in which an eleven men on the field incident costs the Kiwis the points.
Iron Knob 599 defeated Nunawading 536
The codpieces steal one at home here. Nuna unlucky to not record their first win here and one would imagine the axe will swing repeatedly at Springvale Rd before the mid season draft.
Mount Beauty 858 defeated Namatjira 719
The pride of the Kiewa Valley notch up another win at Lakeside Avenue over a once again unlucky Nungas. BL should take some heart as they arent playing that badly and surely must break through soon. And they arent as bad as Nuna.
Charlies Opening 747 lost to Gariwerd 805
The Cockies back on the winners list down at the Pit, despite a plethora of Dees players. Spelunkers brave in defeat despite only fielding 9 players.
Mawson Base 641 lost to Birdsville 700
Despite a mix up involving a glacier, a harp seal and most of the Mawson side which resulted in only 7 players getting on the park, the Penguins just go down to the Battlers. Credit where its due, as going from Birdsville to the Antarctic not the easiest of acclimatisations.
Cradle Mountain 804 defeated Whitsundays 700
Jude Bolton again turning back the clock this week as the Devils knock over the Warriors. Jake Carlisle into the ruck a forced move which didnt come off for the Whitsundays coach with Tomahawk not doing him any favours either.
Gundagai 709 lost to Darraweit Guim 837
The Hoppers hopes pretty much went down like a sack of excrement about the same time Sandi did in the first quarter. In a match where 211 might have nullified the Mullet, instead big Ivan ran riot as Lurch was forced to watch from the Gundagai bench. (In a dressing gown)
Foul Bay 1078 defeated Powletts Plains 780
Tuck, Sewell and Ducky combine again to power the Chooks to another win. Cracking the millenium in the bye round a pretty fair effort and one that probably wont get repeated during the bye rounds. No joy from Diddles for the Packers and he may be looking over his shoulder as delistings are announced this week.
Venus Bay 767 defeated Far Kew 0
Walkover for the Vultures as the Frogs fail to make it back from a social event in time for the game. Pipi diggers still undefeated and looking towards finals now.
